I don't know if you even look at the monitor and look at what you're doing with your computer when you use it.

Mainly because it seems silly to retype thoughts that someone else has already written for me.

It's only a comic on the interwebs. You don't like it, don't visit the website, there's really no reason to gnash your teeth over it. I really don't think I am suddenly a philistine because I like something you find lowbrow :S

EDIT: Ohman, new page. Also, remember that Shakespeare wrote for the lower classes and Mozart was once seen as a pop star. Not everything is high art.

I'm sorry, I just like to be offered entertainment that is actually good.
I don't visit the website. I just get told everytime I say I don't that "what is wrong with you, I looooove it, it's so rad" and they have yet to make a convincing argument as to why. And so, as to sufficiently explain that there is nothing wrong with me, I just have a perfectly legitimate opinion, based on actually reading the whole thing and hating it, for real reasons.

Now, if you would please stop making this thread boring with attacks on my motives or passions, we can all get back to cursing the crap that continues to lower the bar for this generation's contribution to society.

"If you don't like it, don't read it," is really stupid reasoning which, if taken to its rational conclusion, pretty much invalidates all criticism.

i practice being a philistine. it you get too artsy and intelligent you lose touch with common-ness. i'm not going to say that spools is wrong about GC, i'm not going to say it isn't 'bad' for the reasons she pointed out. It is'nt the height of art or even challenging to read. it can entertain me though, and i don't mind it. i doubt it will become a regular read for me though.

that said, the height of lowbrow popular webcomics, penny arcade, is probably my ONLY regular read. lowbrow philistine nerd humour is just my flavour.
