I don't know how anyone can stand painting those little things to such detail.

I'm just glad to see Rupe post. When he goes too long I always wonder if he got deployed again and some sandy foreigner got him with an RPG of the non-tabletop variety or something.

Also,

I'm pretty sure I lack the patience to create a 40k army. Or the large amounts of spare cash to buy an already-painted one. Really, why haven't they just made an online version of the turn-based game? It's not like having one killed off the physical version of Magic, to my knowledge.

if I was going to play a table top game I would just use a bucket of army men.

Go bazooka man-er... space marine!

[Edit] the guy with the binocs is a mech, because I want my opponent to cry when he gets owned by the least favorite Army Man of all time.

You do realize no one uses 56k anymore.

Also, nice stuff.

My models generally look a little strange as I use quite a bit of ink wash in addition to the paints then give them a shiny coating. Still like how they look though.

Some other people's stuff looks too detailed, such as the eyes which are almost always done poorly - bugging out, like Arnold playing an action role. I skip those and make them shadows instead.

I think they are already making one...

So is this some kind of Pokemon thing?

Just kidding Rupe, nice to see you're still around, models looking good and angry, which is just how I like them.

Actor.

Nice work, Rupe.

That's a heck of a lot better than what I could ever do- my skills with regards to art are simply horrible. I guess I'll just have to languish away as an international model and/or man of mystery.

Aye very nicely done there Rupe, and just in time for the grand nerfing of Chaos too. I really should take pics of my Iron Warriors at some point too.

*wanders off grumbling about the new chaos space marine codex*

Makes me wish I had spent more effort when I used to collect 40k. I only started getting good at painting when I moved on to inquisitor, but I've even sold that now.

By the time I stopped all I was interested in was the models: I had discovered D&D by that point.

I don't think that would be a wise idea in my case. 7000pt tau armies are expensive, but no one argues when you have 11 railguns on the table.

A friend once said to me before he played against a Space Marine player: "When I see terminators I think 'ouch'", my reply, "I think broadside battlesuits"

7000pt? Thats a big ass battle, the ones I play currently at around 2000-3500 take a long as time. I don't think I could keep my attention long enough for a 7000pt battle.

We had too much time on our hands and too much money. Its wasn't too bad untill you got into the assault phase. Could lead to some pretty nasty meatgrinders where you need about three times the amount of dice any sensible battle should ever use.

Needs a big ass table as well.

I prefer to use the floor. My basement is roughly 35ft x 35ft. Plenty of room to manuver.

Also anyone use an eldar army lately or fight one? I can't decide on wether to equip my autarch with a warp jump generator or a Swooping Hawk wings.

The irony is I have yet to play an actual tabletop game of 40k. I got into Dawn of War heavily while I was overseas, and it escalated quickly once I got back to the states. I'm still stuck in backwoods Georgia, and am quite hesitant to drive two hours for the possibility of a game.

The kind that just wrecked his car a few months ago. I'm half-Asian, so driving skills are not my forte.
