Hey, WI. Are you still doing Verizon FIOS?
Indeed I is. Which I still recommend over doing DSL support if you're still in the Dallas area, despite the fact that the new firmware for the Fios TV set-top boxes is causing all sorts of problems which we'll probably be dealing with through the end of the year. Which is part of why I haven't had any time to post from work.
Also, I just realized there might be people who haven't seen Zero Punctuation, which is a shame (watch how I tie it to this thread later, because it's not like this can just be a general youtube thread or anything now). They're short but hilarious review/videogame discussion thingies done in pretty much one run-on but well-paced sentence by a British/Australian guy with the accompaniment of cute animations and this paragraph is in no way meant to reflect upon their style, because god knows I've never done the least bit of self-referential linguistic wankery of the sort, but in any case:
Old ones:
Fable
The Darkness Demo
Announcement of the move to The Escapist
And the new ones are all in
one convenient place at The Escapist.
On a similar note,
these (left column) are pretty much the best Wii virtual console reviews I've seen. Plenty of gameplay footage, and it's fun listening to the new songs for each one.
Also also, Aliens vs. Predator 2
trailer, which looks... not too terrible, surprisingly. It's going to be rated R, and the title of AVP: Requiem seems a deliberate attempt to distance themselves from the last movie.
(As for how this is all related, one of the Zero Punctuation vids is about The Darkness, which is a game based on a comic book, and AVP2 looks to be loosely based on the comic series of the same name. And there was a, er, Metroid comic in Nintendo Power, which relates to the first Mushroom Singdom. Ha!
This is all totally on-topic, and not an attempt to make this into Post Something: Youtube Edition or anything. Honest.)
Also^3, since things seem to be pretty quiet around here, has much thought been given to just archiving the whole lot and moving en masse to the new Errant Story forums? Thinking about it, it might be hard to generate much traffic with just sig banners and the like. There's a lot of history here I'd hate to lose, hence the archiving, but things and people change, etc. New history can just be made.
