Not so many as you would expect. I've been lurking there, but I haven't cared enough to post. No real reason to.

Yeah, definitely haven't gone near the new ES board. The one time I did after the split it just seemed too different a culture.

I continue to LJ and, when I'm bored enough, Facebook.

Currently in Santiago, and wondering why the fuck did I want to go to Santiago?

No-one speaks English, those that do have moved to the US, the mighty Peso is fun to play with and set on fire, but the fucking internet and youth hostel is crap, I´m currently using the internet without a mouse and staying in a room the size of the closet that Elton John stayed in during his formative years.
Yesterday I had to use windows 2000 on a processor slower than my mothers adoption of email.

Plus I´m slowly dying from a head cold.

Actor.

Unless they've all been banned in justifiable purges, if Impy wanted to make the new one work-safe.

As Admin of the new ES forums, I can proudly say that I've had to ban a grand sum total of 1 (one) persons, and that was because the guy kept spamming our art and webcomic sections praisehunting for his not-terribly-well-drawn webcomic, which he'd only completed about 4 pages of at the time.

I agree that the new forums don't have as wide a... variety... of topics, but it's not due to any restrictions or qualifications. The "Work Safe" policies are just about images, not the actual discussions...

I'd also, forsaking any duties I might have in the organization and speaking only as a fan, like to recommend that any former readers (like EN fans) who may have laxed on Errant Story during it's 'serious' turn the last year or so check back in - it's picked up the pace considerably now that the heavy plot elements are all over, and the current sequence of events promises to be... um... very special.

I dropped by again the other day and looked into some threads and found a new person or two who seemed very much a step above the sillyness that came to personify ES threads (to me) during the last couple months that id was still on this board. And also viking what possessed you to come look at this board again? (just interested seeing as any ES ties have been cut)

I'm not just a member of Team Poe, I'm also a real live human being who has interests outside Errant Story. Just because the ES forums seperated off doesn't mean I don't continue my long tradition of lurking here in my spare time. I generally always liked you guys, and still do. This place is still good for some of my darker humor fixes, and to be honest I miss seeing some of you guys.

Was that at all related to the strange child-comics about Ellis and the tentacle familiar that seem to crop up now and then?

What's the story behind those things?

If that was meant in jest, then... har de har har.

No, the "strange child-comics about Ellis and the tentacle familiar" are my handiwork, and I take all credit and blame for them myself. The basic story there is that it's set between the old "How Meji met Bani" flashback and the start of Chapter 1, and it's a cartoony take on the relationship between Ellis and R-kun, putting them in Tom and Jerry/Roadrunner and Coyote sort of situation as escalatingly worse things happen to them.

Oringally, the filler was kind of a joke I made as a gift for Impy and Poe, however when we went to Dragon*Con last year and it became obvious somewhere around day thirty (ok, I know Dragon*Con wasn't that long, but it felt like it was towards the end) that there was more con than we had strips in the can and/or filler to cover, my "backup plan" got rolled out. Since then, I've been keeping them provided with 1 or 2 as backup incase Poe would ever fall ill (or simply want a day off) and not have and nice pretty filler handy.

The only good thing to come out of Traditional Games was Marpocolypse; which is coincidentely the only good thing to come out of oobey, because he's a one-hit-wonder.

I don't have the foggiest what happened for the last year or so, but the last month is interesting. I do suggest going back and start reading it again.

By 'it' I meant ES, in case I wasn't clear.

Lemme see if I can summise the last year and change:
Ian, still hopped up on absorbing all the power of Anilis, went to his home village so that he could heal his ailing sister... only to discover that while he'd been away on his quest, his crazy mother had set their house on fire, killing herself and his sister.

Ian then proceded to use his powers to "Omega-Heal" all the unwell half-elves in the village, rewiring them at a genetic level so that their bodies didn't snap back to the busted factory default. He also attempts to resurrect his sister from the dead, only to find that he could put the body back together but that her spirit was gone... this angers the already dangerously emo Ian, who then goes all Superman and files off into the night... leaving Meji behind.

Jon and his sister Sara (whom he took captive during his run in with the Time Monks) do some quality bonding in the woods... then Sara and Sarine beat the hell out of each other for a while... and then Sara decides to continue travelling with the party. Jon, Sarine, Sara, and Ellis all head to Tsuiraku (since they're out of better ideas), where Sarine bullshits her way past the guards posing as part of the Elven Ambassidor's honor guard.

The team meets up with Meji, only to have her run off because she wants to meet her father (the actual Elven Ambassidor Sarine was posing as a guard for). Meji and Ellis get captured... *sigh*... and taken back to Elfland. Sara discovers that time monkery doesn't work against elves when they've got personal shields up... Jon discovers that bullets do... and the entire party bugger off in the middle of the night chasing after Meji.

Meanwhile, Ian goes to Veracia to demand the Patriarch tell him where the elves are hiding. Luminosita attacks Ian... Ian dispells the pokegod... and a significant portion of the city is destroyed. The Patriarch eventually tells Ian that he doesn't have the foggiest idea where the elves are at, at which time a time monk spy knocks Ian out and whisks him away to the Time Monk Village, where Anita propositions a pantless Ian to join her on her quest in world domination, starting with the genocidal purging of the elves.

So picking up with the most current events, Jon, Sarine, and Sara were captured on their way into Elf Mountain, and Sarine faked her way through (again) by saying that she'd captured the two humans because they knew about the 'half-elf in question' (Ian). So now they're in the city, staying in a disused consulate, Misa is officially involved in events, and Meji is stuck in a small holding cell with Ellis... but no toilet.
...and that about sums it up.

Wow that was suprisingly accurate and detailed for such a short summary. And it clarified that Sarine meant Ian and not Meji when they got to elfmountain. I hadn't realized that.

The Americans are nice to me, almost too nice. I worry a little, as though they are planning something against me.
