Hey Actror! Have you seen the new Stephen Moffatt series about Sherlock Holmes?

I found it to be awesome.

What do you think?

I fucking loved it. I can't wait till the next season.
Mostly because I loved Moriaty in this and I always love Mycroft Holmes no matter who plays him, just because he's Mycroft!

Hello!

I was completely in favour of it from the moment we first meet Anderson the Medical Examiner. That was pure gold. I think it's a great pity that Stephen Moffatt doesn't ACTUALLY have a TARDIS. Maybe with a time machine we wouldn't have to last a whole year on three measly episodes!

The DVD has the pilot on it. That's kinda sorta vaguely like a fourth episode.

Also, loving the show, watched all of it in one go, I can't wait for there to be more.

The pilot episode is different to A Study in Pink?
How much?

Also Luther is a pretty good English detective show, and I'm not just saying that because I'm secretly in love with Alice, who's adorable.

I haven't seen the pilot, just was informed by the friend who owned the DVD that it was different in terms of editing and it had a very different feel as a result. I was both pleased and kinda unhappy that my mystery muscles were still sufficient to keep up, I wanted to be surprised more. Oddly, despite my obsessive mystery phase at age 10 or so, I never did read any Sherlock Holmes, so I guess I'm coming to it from a different place. I will of course read the books when I can sit still and concentrate long enough to do so without feeling guilty because I'm not concentrating on comic stuff, I just got distracted sixteen years ago and never really got undistracted.

I caught the commercials and wasn't interested in seeing Luther based on them, but I'm willing to give it a go on a recommendation. I'm weirdly hypnotized by Law & Order. Bombastic Obsessive Wig Man is like watching a man implode in slow motion, and Pretty Detective Guy's partner is interesting, but Freema would have been better off working for Torchwood.

If you haven't seen Leverage yet (an American show, on TNT of all places), you absolutely should check it out. It is my favorite television series ever, and it has Gina Bellman in it, so there's a Moffat/BBC connection that even makes it on topic to bring it up. My three favorite episodes: The Wedding Job, The Two Live Crew Job, and The Rashoman Dagger Job.

I was first confused, then saddened by the lack of more episodes. My folks kept wondering why they were seeing the same episodes over and over again. ;)

Great series, though. I enjoy the overlays, definitely helps you keep up. Don't know how that actor does it.

I just like the fact that Sherlock and Mycroft have a brother who's existence can only be deduced.
