D'you know, after finishing KS I calculated I'd spent 40 hours playing it... Compare to the last game I played (Portal 2) which ate 30, cost more, and didn't stick in my thoughts nearly as much afterwards.
I think what drew me to it was that it was the idea of an amateur online production, spawned on 4chan no less, which produced something that turned out so well and succeeded so thoroughly. I think the
kickstarter artbook project shows they had no idea how many people they'd touched.
I also have to wonder how many of the KS devs are now rethinking their decision to disband, or of starting another project.
