Still living in basically the same place as before (West St. Paul, MN). I did end up quitting my job at the evil empire (which is to say, Comcast) after almost completely losing my mind there. Am now working at the helpdesk of a financial services company... which I guess is still kinda working for evil, but at least the pay is better and the people I serve are considerably less stupid.

Other than that, it's almost kinda depressing how little things have changed since the last update.

Very briefly, Omni was here. It was awesome. All of you should feel free to do likewise.

Christ, was it really 2007 last time I posted?

I'm still living on the Wet Coast, in the Vancouver area. Still working too hard doing science for a company making wireless gear. At some point I outgrew fast cars, and started learning to fly instead. Also finally figured out what to do with the rest of my life.

Dude, It's good to hear you're doing well.

Myself, I refrain from posting till my life actually gets better in some way.

Dude, don't leave us in suspense, tell us!

As for me, I'm exactly midway (here's hoping to finish before Christmas 2015)through my degree in Industry and Management Engineering.
A university degree in Industry and Management Engineering, to be exact.
And not just any university, but The Technion!

(please tell me that this nonsense impresses you and I'm not just working my ass off doing things the hard way just for the prestige of some retarded professor. Seriously, why do I need to know the epsilon-delta (Cauchy) definition of limits if all the math I work with is statistical in nature? :bang: )

KYHM! I've missed you! Come back!

(Also, I guess I should say...in Louisiana these days. Hating it a little less, as I'm moving to another part of the state, away from my hometown. Is a nice place. With amazing food. And the people are nice. Work is...well. Trying to find a big girl job.)

I stopped by today (it’s been how many years since I've posted?) because Actor posted a comment in my LiveJournal... and his appearance brought back memories.

Anywayz... I’m still in a town on the outskirts of Portland, Oregon... enjoying the rain... and working very hard (60-80 hour weeks)... in fact I'm a bit late for work now, and it's 5:15am local time. Gotta run!

(I guess it's been quite a while since I've posted... my avatar is all messed up and distorted! ^_^ )

I just wanted to see if this place was still kicking. I still talk fondly about this place. Made me who I am, at least it made my sense of humour.

I'm still living in London Ontario. Can't say I'm happy with the prospects of my life. Just lost a job, and got a new one as a dishwasher... but I'm happier there.

I got plans. Lots of plans. Just need to get off my ass and do them. (I actually am working on them, just none of them have hit yet.)

I doubt very much if anyone else is monitoring... but I do have the forum ping me if there are responses in this thread. I suppose I'm an optimist. (^_^)

I'm in Detroit, MI now. It seems like a lot of us are in the same general area. Hell I drive through London a few times a year going to New York

I moved to Atlanta, so stop by if you're in the area. I'll buy you a beer and just sit there staring uncomfortably and unblinkingly at you as you drink it.

Poe and I are still in Cincinnati at the moment, but giving serious thought to moving elsewhere in the next couple of years. I want sunshine, we both want urban (meaning somewhere with multiple yummy places to eat in easy walking distance and a fair amount of culturally interesting activities available), and I want night life and easy accessibility to my people (who are mostly in clusters throughout New England, with isolated pockets elsewhere). Which basically means I need to be able to realistically get to Boston with trains or driving, because planes require sticking myself with needles to use. However, Poe and I don't actually like Boston or want to live there, and neither of us wants to live in the South, either. Also I'm pretty sure we have to stay in the United States in general, because I have medical benefits to consider. So any suggestions that accommodate all that pickiness are welcome.

Oh, but barring disaster, I'll be in Seoul, South Korea for a month or two in 2015. And I'm working on the idea of Australia for a while in 2016.

It is a veritable honor to receive a visit and post by the Boss Lady! Thank you!! I am embarrassed to say that although I knew that late last year Poe had resumed weekly updates of Does Not Play Well with Others (which I love, BTW), I have not been back to get caught up. (I do have some excuses in my life, including a new job that started earlier this year... but they're really just excuses). I am shamed into doing catchup with Poe and Impy at Caffeine Angel Studios – next weekend. (I'm working long days, and I don't have much free time during the work week.)

Impy: What about Boston don't you like, out of curiosity?

I guess it speaks to my hikikomori tendencies that even after living in Massachusetts for nearly 4 years now, I still have no idea what the surrounding area is like. Work-life balance is not really a Thing that happens in vet school >_>;;; I've heard Providence, RI is nice? (Have also heard that RI's government is corrupt as fuck, though.) I guess all I can say for sure is, don't ever live in Worcester, MA. The spectrum of the city seems to run from "shithole" to "not quite a shithole".

Edit:
Oh right, where I'm at at the moment - finishing my last year of vet school, graduation in May, and then theoretically I'll be licensed in the state of Massachusetts to practice medicine on all species except one (i.e. humans). In reality, I've found that I hate clinical practice (if animals didn't come with owners attached life would be SO MUCH EASIER) and love pathology (cutting up dead things to see what makes them tick is fun!) and am failing wonderfully at getting into pathology specialist residencies so far, so if that doesn't pan out then I might just flee back into the sterile bosom of academia/research for a Ph.D and keep collecting alphabet-soup letters after my name. Or look for internships in biotech or pharmaceutical companies. Or do wildlife fieldwork. Basically I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing with my life but maybe if I throw myself at enough things then one of them might stick?

It isn't that we dislike Boston, just that we don't like it. The best way I can express it is that the air feels flat there.

Upside: I have a job! I will be starting a veterinary anatomic pathology residency at Kansas State University in August (and thus have been frantically packing and moving these past couple of weeks).

Translation: I will be spending 3 years cutting up dead animals and looking at them under microscopes and learning everything about everything in veterinary medicine, and teaching ickle vet students about dead animal bits, and also getting paid (albeit not very much) for it. :D SWEET.

Downside: It's in fucking Kansas. Oh well. *working on a 3-year escape plan already*

Bonus perk: Currently roadtripping to Kansas (first actual roadtrip ever) and will be crashing with Impy-chan next week :D Waiiiii~
