I went to a strip club last night with a mate of mine, he wanted to leave because he thought he saw a guy he went to primary school with who he didn't get along with talking to the bartender who'd served our drinks. He's going through a paranoid stage right now I think.
He was my lift home and we'd been there for two hours so we left.

There were BOOBIES!
And I'm still in the same place I was last time I posted here.

My home. Well, starting saturday, anyway. Second largest city in Sweden. A mere large town by international comparison. Just below half a million inhabitants.

Until saturday, the family home, or close enough: Ohmygoditsevenworse

I've been relocated to West Virginia. There are lots of hills. I don't much like hills. But everyone says I'll get used to it. Oh and I've finally seen snow. Just an update for those who may care.

Well, shouldn't be more than 2 years, if you believe what Mr. Obama says.

On the other hand, apperantly you post only when you're in Iraq, so I'm not sure if it's for the best.

Let's see...update time, my old friends.

I became an archaeologist at University, did a Masters, got sick of academia, ran away to America. Spent a bit more than a year in Boston, became a science and tech journalist, reviewing cameras. Fell in love with a girl, and moved to bumfuck nowhere Indiana to be with her about three months ago. Now barely scraping by as a freelance journalist, mostly writing about iPhones. On the plus side, I'm interning for a website most of you have probably read; last year I covered PMA and CES; I no longer have to get dressed to work (major victory that). On the downside, I'm flat broke, and leave the house only every couple of days. Yay, being a hermit!

West St. Paul, which is like regular St. Paul, except... south. Yes, south, not west. Don't ask me, I still don't quite understand it and I've been living here almost a year.

Still working for a telecommunications company whose color scheme is primarily red (hint: it's not Verizon), and am slightly surprised I've managed to stay this long. Have realized that what I suspected all along is true: my degree in computer science is only good for getting more degrees in computer science. Oh well, at least I've officially moved out, so I'm no longer a pathetic loser living with my parents. I'm now a pathetic loser living on my own. Woo!

And... that's about it.

Well, that puts you one above me. must be nice. I Moved out on my own at 18. Lived in 3 different places until last August, when my roomie lost his job and I lost my apartment. Moved in with my mom to help her get back on her feet. She got approved for Social Security at the age of 62, so I moved in with my dad to help him out, except now I'm broke from helping and realizing I had more monies on my own. I wanted to find a house while the market was in the shit, but now I have nothing for a downpayment. So.....gonna move back into an apartment this spring. Maybe.....Hopefully.....

Kest: But you're still in the Really Cold Mitten. :P

I ought to be studying for a final tomorrow morning, so clearly this is the time to do anything but. I finished undergrad at Johns Hopkins University (2006~2009) and am doing a year-long Master's while applying to vet schools. Have three interviews lined up now, yay. Going to UPenn this Friday, and then Tufts on Dec. 20th, and UGlasgow in February. With luck, I can get the fuck away from Hopkins next school year.

Miss y'all :glomp:

HA!
Because I've a slight American twang in my accent I lived in fear of that type of thing happening to me around the world. Except in America where I was afraid that my slight English Inflection would get me kicked out of the country.
Its why I don't drink Tea.

Still in Squarebanks, Alaskania (fuck Anchorage if you think it's Alaska...yeah, I know it's like half the state's population right here). Took a break a year ago to go on exchange to Kent State (holy shit college town with like actual bars and clubs and shit? Cool), but other than that been staying in the same 16x16 dry cabin. I like it, even if my neighbor is flakey as hell with anything he can be.

Finishing up school (Econ BA, math minor, and IT AAS, glad I ditched CS), not particularly rushed as I've got a decent paying (21/hr) internship in a small gov't IT department right now that offers me as little or as much challenge as I want. And tuition is free, and rent is cheap. I really like the job, as it's also giving me experience doing real things (e.g. building/deploying small servers) though it sometimes has more time to dink around "researching IT" than I'd like. I kinda miss the previous job I had, actually (despite it paying less than half for somewhat similar work), if only because the group was large enough to need an ticket management system which made keep track of who needed what and when much easier.
