Pros: Last time Square worked with Enix we got Chrono Trigger. Chrono Break isn't out yet...
The Final Fantasy series and the Dragon Quest series have both been sucking recently, and a lot of the old Final Fantasy talent is leaving the company - this could bring new life into the games.
We also might see more Enix games coming over to the states - Enix has a bad habit of poorly translating games and not marketing them well, and doesn't release a lot of stuff anymore for the North American market.
Cons: Square's in a lot more trouble than I realized. If this merger doesn't work out to well BOTH Enix and Square could die, which would leave us with... Namco and Tri-Ace. Oh god no (if only Tri-Ace actually published games every so often). Square's also had something of a heated rivalry with Enix - I thought it'd be more likely for them to go back to kissing up with Nintendo than to join with Enix.
