I said I would return one day to bring forth twisted ideas, and it is so. *ahem*

Okay, do any of the elders/dirty old men remember waaaay back when, on the Keenspot boards, when a few of the regulars were whipping up fighting game versions of Jordan, Jones, et al.? Well, recently I was thinkin' about that, and looking at some of the stuff on this page's forum, as well as this thing that the locals of OrochiNagi.com whipped up - or are whipping up, in any case - and some other crap that I can't link to at the moment.

This started the gears turning, and this is the result: A fictional fighting tournament... thing, wherein the locals of Khym's forum beat the snot out of each other, Street Fighter/King of Fighters/Guilty Gear/Fatal Fury/Rage of the Dragons/Samurai Shodown/whatever-style. Movelists and everything. If nothing else, it would keep people occupied enough so that they don't alleviate their boredom by trying to stare down the goatse.cx guy.

So... good idea? Bad idea? Or am I just blowing smoke out my ass?

Sounds fun. I'd want Ero to be a long-distance fighter with the most ANNOYING tricks possible. =)

Cool idea.

I'll work with a upclose guy with only two distance attacks: Leaping nekochan, and the grey fog.

Heh heh. I'll be the guy that does annoyingly fast and unpredictable moves, never stays down, and generally does the most frustrating thing possible in any given situation. I'll also do the stupidest suicidal (yet inanely powerful) moves that rarely succeed ("Attack of the Tree-Splitting Herring!"), and otherwise do damage worth jack. If all else fails, I have the Saotome Ougi to use until the opponent commits hari-kiri from frustration.

Discoordination Attack... the opponent's controls suddenly freeze/switch- i.e, punch button is now the block button, etc.

Tele-Frag... I teleport behind him, smack him, he turns around to punch, I teleport behind him, smack him again, then when he turns, I knee him in the balls, teleport behind him, then stab his back.

I get Tessa-chan. And all 8 of my 30-rounders. And my bayonet and bokken.

Wheeee. . . 4 hours of sleep after a LAN party and I'm still not thinking straight.

Ever played Bushido Blade 2? You know the guy who always teleports? Yeah, him....

Spring Attack: I become covered in springs. Everytime they hit me, it either bounces off, or bounces me right back at them. And it reduces damage!

Confusion: I make random messages appear on the screen. Like "Pause," "You Lose," "Game Over," "Here comes a new challenger," or even "Ne!"

Masturbation at the speed of light: I do just that. Fighting continues. At a random time, and stream of ejaculate flies out of nowhere, causing the opponent, if hit, to have to wipe it off. I mean, that's just icky, you know.
If I miss, then both players can slip on it!

Drill Press: Jump high into the air, then do a Dhalsim straight down. Unfortunately, accuracy is low. Though it does shake the arena, upsetting most attacks.

Postwhore Technique one: suddenly appear everywhere!

H4x><0R: Suddenly, the screen blacks out/whites out/flashes/BSoD's. This lasts until I make a move.

Spam Attack: Suddenly, words begin to flash across the screen, from left to right. These are projectile-type attacks, that do damage depending on the word. This continues until I am hit.

Attack of the Master Postwhore: The opponent is exposed to large amounts of pure Noobicite, a deadly compound that can injure nerve cells quickly. This immediately shuts down his mental capacity.

Network Crimp: Take opponents sensitive parts and 'crimp em'
Plasma etch: deliver a blast from the Neurotic Oscillating Plasma Etcher
RJ-45 attack: use a network cord like a whip

Finishing move: Summon uber-router-of-doom(tm) to have its way with opponents body.

I would so be Zangiff (russian wrestler from street fighter), big fat tank of a man. I would also come with optional weapon, red baseball bat. (Homerun swing!) Limited striking moves, but powerfull basic grapples, like bear hug... and bear hug takedown... and bear hug throw... I really need to do something other than grabbing people, and using my 220 pounds to move them around...

Most likely, when this whole thing gets pegged down right proper. For now, though, this could be considered the pre-planning.

Hokay, speaking of pre-planning, the general consensus seems to be a "yes." Now that I know people would want to participate in what experience will tell me will become a massive (albeit entertaining) fustercluck, I have to ask: What game style (if any) should it be based upon? We've got a bunch of options, here:

1) Standard one-on-one fighting, Street-Fighter/Guilty Gear/Fatal Fury-style.
2) Three-on-three with defined teams, King of Fighters-style.
3) Three-on-three group fighting with no teams, Marvel vs. Capcom 2-style.
(...or two-on-two, if so desired)
4) The Capcom vs. SNK 2 Ratio system, like in... uh, CvS2.

As for the moves of the characters:

1) Everyone has the same button setup (the 3 punches and 3 kicks of SF, the 2 punches and 2 kicks of KoF, the P/K/S/HS/Dust attack of Guilty Gear)
2) Everyone chooses what button setup they want (so if you like SF and some other guy is a Samurai Shodown nut... make 'em like you want).

Anyway... INPUT!! DISCUSS!! CAPS LOCK!!

Kitsune would use a weapons-based style, thank you. (Soul Calibur button system for him)

Special attacks:(A=Attack, B=Vertical, K=Kick, G=Guard, v=Down, |=Up, ->=Towards opponent, -<=Away from opponent, /v, /|, \v, \|=Diagonal directions (match them up, you'll see how it works)

Sword 1 (Caliburn):

Sing Hallelujah(Short Range)-He stabs the opponent, making them unable to move. He removes the sword, holds it up. The sword glows bright white, and a single high (off-scale) C is emitted from the sword. He slices straight down through the opponent and then uppercuts both halves of the body into the air and slices them into small pieces. (->A vB+G A| B B B)
Give Glory (Long Range)-The opponent is lifted up into the air, and Kit jumps at them, back and forth, flying across the screen and hitting them multiple times, finishing by slamming them into the ground with the flat of his sword. (->->A+B B| A A A . . . vB)

Sword 2 (Grendel):

Doubtful Faith(SR)-Kit stabs the opponent, and as he pierces the spinal column, lightning arcs around the opponent and the amount of life that Kit takes from the opponent restores Kit's health. (<-<-A(hold))
Out of the Abyss(LR)-Kit thrusts up, and the earth around the opponent explodes, knocking them into the air and hitting them multiple times. (/|B)
Demonking(LR/SR)-A huge black dragon erupts from the sword and claws the opponent, grabbing them and tossing them into its mouth and tearing the opponent back and forth, then tossing them into the air and slashing them into five pieces with its left claws. (<-/vv\v->/||\|A+B)

Glaive (Root of Yggdrasil):

Gathering Storm(SR/LR)-Kit uses the glaive to propel himself into the air above his opponent. As he comes down, he spins around twice, slashing at his opponent with the bladed end of the glaive. (/|A+B A A)
Odin's Hammer(SR, done when on one side of the screen)-Kit slams his opponent to the opposite side of the screen with the blunt end of the glaive, causing them extreme damage as a result. (<-B+K)

He can switch weapons with the /|->\v button combo. Other than these moves, his moves sets are based off of Sophitia/Lizardman(Sword 1), Seigfried/Nigthmare(Sword 2), and Kilik/Seung Mina(Glaive) from SoulCaliburs 1 and 2.

How's that?

All my attacks would be taunts.

Taunt #1 - I give you the finger.
Taunt #2 - I question your sexuality.
Taunt #3 - I insult your way of life.

And my finisher would be me simply rolling my eyes and walking off the battlefield. The win would go to me afterwards, of course.

There's always one...

Actually, mebbe I should clarify: Seeing as most every other one of these fictional fighting whachamahoosits is based on a 2-D engine... well, you can guess what I'm getting at.
