9 I think. It was my first character and I've only really settled on two I like so far. From a mechanics POV E/N works just fine but from a philosophy of the characters and classes the only ones that really meld completely are E and Me.

It may be silly to characterize them in the way I see the mentality of the characters who would play the classes but thats the way I enjoy the game best. I've never been a power gamer before and this is the first massive game of any flavor I've really enjoyed. Maybe if having a secondary effected your character more I would make more use of them but they're exactly what they're stated as, secondary. Maybe it's just me but making a wilderness fighter (R and W) just doesn't work quite right. Perhaps if I could carry more than 8 skills at a time I'd use them more. Monk is the only one that I don't wish I had more spaces for.

well, considering the amount of skills you can choose from even with one proffesion choosing the right 8 can be considered the point of the game.
what i like about it is that the characters are totally flexible even after reaching level 20 and you can change your attributes and try any skill you like at any time.
one character is gonna last me a long time for a change (or so id like to believe).

just wondering - did any of your characters make it to yak's bend?

I've found that my lvl 16 W/R and her lvl 14 Playful Stalker seem to be quite apt at making things beside her die.

Edit: Shoonra, you're at Yak's bend? Not too far behind me, then. I'm over in Lion's Arch. If you need anyone to party with you, I've got no problem dropping back and re-doing those quests.

:O

Ezzykins, I'm around Lion's Arch... actually more along at Druid's Overwhateverthefuckitscalled, but I've got some Lion's Arch/Ascalon Settlement quests I never did.

Find Charles Guiteau, the Slayer of James Garfield!

PS--Tamayo, I'm sorry I didn't play for most of last week (lag was unbelievable, plus Jade Empire ate my soul), but I've still got that Rune of Minor Fast Cast if you want it. Also have a Rune of Minor Marksmanship if anyone needs that.

Most all of the classes can work pretty well with a secondary. You just have to line up all the skills that compliment each other. The exception is I've see is Rangers; they can damn near do it all on their own.

actually i use the elementalist skills a lot more than i do the mesmers.
basically i only took the mesmer skills that would help my mp run out a little slower. appearantly i got almost twice as much mp as most characters my level do (partially thanks to cpt. supermarket <3) and yet i waste it twice as fast >.>;;

Hey, thats a good use for it. Elems burn through mp pretty fast.

I honestly couldn't play a Mesmer to save my life. Waaay to subtle ;p

well, backfire was always handy when i fought bosses with only one henchman around...
mesmers got some spiffy skills but "status effects" were never my thing to begin with. i dont even know why i took it, my guess is because the npc is the closest to ascalon ^^;;
either that or the word domination caught my eye >.>

Yeah, so this has become a game of gotta catch em all. The skills that is. Also, there are missions later where you can go and change your secondary profession at will. If you want to see some decent layouts for using both classes, go to PVP character creation screen and take a look at some of the premade layouts where they tell you how to play as that setup and the strategies involved.

Got the game, playing it off and on when WoW gets tiresome...

Johnny On the Spot - W/Necro, just entered post-searing.

What do I do now?

...has anyone done the Galrath mission?

I just spent two hours attempting it. Made it to within sight of the goal. I think I left my sanity behind.

I don't even know what fucking direction Galrath is in.

"He's in the Wizard's Tower."
"Which is... where exactly?"
"Oh, you know. Out there."

Don't bother with it. Just head to the temple of ages instead and get owned by the underworld mission. Costs you one plat just to do it. So some random ragtag group I was in won the hall of heroes today. I saw a beautiful celestial sigil fall in front of my face. Sadly it wasn't assigned to me.

That would require me to know where the hell the Temple of Ages is. Seriously, I am more lost than a debilitiated mouse. They get pretty lost, I hear.

I'm in...

Severus Renmei.
Necromacer.

So far I've done a little walking around and killed a worm.
I'll look into it more later.

Actor.
