I have no extra monies for overpriced cable, so I'm stuck with broadcast TV (in America, btw). However, they have been showing the 2005 series late at night on PBS for the past several weeks. I'd heard a lot about Doctor Who on the internets, from Actor's posts especially, and I figured I'd love this show based on what I heard- seems I was right. :-3

Too late.

I want to have Steven Moffat's babies. Every episode he has written has been fucking fantastic.

Probably the best episode of this season, and the best non-doctor centred episode ever. I guess for that title it doesn't really have much competion.

SWEET HOLY FUCK.

holy fucking sweet!

THAT WAS FUCKING FUCKED AND FUCKING FUCK!

Stephen Moffat created Press Gang, Coupling and five of the best episodes of Doctor Who ever written(The Curse of the Fatal Death, The Empty Child, The Doctor Dances, The Girl in the Fireplace(that episodes was freaking tight) and Blink).
I'm willing to get in line to have his babies after Vass is done.
And scariest of all is how freaky the statues are given that they don't move.

DON'T BLINK.

"End of the universe, have fun.. Bye Bye!"

Weird seeing John Simm not being down and depressed like he usually is in Life On Mars.

He was like that for most of "Human Traffic" too...

Attention:

Russel, PUT DOWN THE PENCIL. YOU AREN'T ALLOWED TO WRITE ANYMORE EPISODES IN WHICH THE WORLD IS THREATENED BY A FLY ARMY OF DOOM INTENT ON BLOWING UP THE EARTH.

The Parting of Ways: Giant Dalek ships in the sky bombing the planet Earth until the continents changed shape.

Doomsday: Army of Cybermen and Armada of Flying Daleks fighting it out in the skies above Earth.

The Sounds of Drums: Floating things flying above Earth killing everything.

CAN YOU BEFROE A SEASON FINALE THAT ISN'T AN INVASION STORY? JUST ONCE? LIKE WRITE A STORY ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE.

Still good Episode, how I love the Master.

Yeah, they really need to get Moffat in to do a finale. Or anyone who isn't Davies, really. (Even Lucas! :V :V :V )

Resurrect some of the old writers and get them to do something. Otherwise we'll have to stay tuned for the end of next season when the earth gets invaded by ninja cyberdaleks controlled by davros reborn from shortly after the dawn of time and the only way that the earth can be saved is if the doctor throws K9 into the swirling vortex of vortexness to destroy the quantum deus ex machina on the other side.

In other news,
the master doesn't seem quite as villainous as he used to be. And why do I get the feeling that he's gonna get killed off at the end of the next episode (Besides the fact that there's still only one tardis for two timelords).
The master is just acting like a twisted version of the Doctor, it makes no sense, he was always the serious one.
He was menacing, think Lex Luthor not the Joker.

Its not that I don't like it, I think its mostly okay, its just that I don't appreciate the most evil genius in the universe being so Joker-like, he's meant to be Evil, like when you hear he's going to be in an episode you know that shit is going down, not an engine for cheap laughs(the screaming bit was funny however).
The Master was the opposite of the Doctor, cold uncaring chilly, with a little beard.

If the Toclafane are what I think they are then the last episode will be great, but still I wish the Master wasn't so funny.

I'm liking Simm's variant of The Master. I'd have liked to see Derek in the role for a little more screen time though.

And remember: the regeneration thing has always given the personality a little jiggle and even a nutter like The Master is going to have been affected in some way by the war.

And it could be worse: they could have played him as camp as a row of pink tents like they did during Colin Baker's Doctor's interaction with him.

Jacobi would've made an awesome oldstyle Master if he'd wished to stick around along the lines of Delgado and Ainley.

It'd make him darker, like the ninth doctor, not kookier and prone to being a lulztrain. But other than being less lulzy,

Seems like the Master has a new set of regenerations to go through now tho. Probably gonna go find Utopia, or perhaps what's left of Gallifrey.

Perhaps. Though how trauma affects an individual is, well, individual... Especially where the personage had lose hinges to start with.

And anyway, the regeneration thing happened *after* running away from the war and being stuck as a human - so the prepencity to a more frivolous sense to the humour could be do to the recent change, not past events.

Perhaps Utopia _is_ what is left of Gallifrey. Or a rebuilding there-of, if more than two timelords managed to survive (or the Doctor starts a breeding program...).
