Makes me think of Albert Einstein. He was brilliant, but a fucking kook. Didn't brush his hair because it'd be messed up when he went to bed, didn't wear socks because he made holes in the toes, didn't even memorize his own address or phone number because he could look it up.

Also, he was evil to his wives, cold and distant.

So long, social interaction, hello home-school.

okay did you just compare Jim Bob to Albert Einstein? Way to go.

Also, everybody is missing something.

I compared home-schooling to Einstein. Home-schooled kids are often motivated, driven, and intelligent, but as everyone stated, they are dumb as a sack of cats when it comes to social interaction.

So, hey guys, do you consider me all that socially awkward?
It's true I always thought kids my own age were ridiculous and petty as a kid, but now I get along pretty damn well with any age group.

The only seroious issue you have withthe kids being home-schooled is that their parents are instilling their values and beliefs more securely in their children than most people get a chance to.
Whether those are good values to instill in any child is up for debate.

Statistically, home-schoolers receive an education equal to or greater than that of public and private schooling, rather than an inferior education. I know all the home-schoolers I've met at my university are straight-A students.

Thats because the home schoolers that were taught by parents too stupid to realize they were too stupid to teach didn't go to college

Many do sensible things like learn a trade straight out of high school instead of wasting time at universities, too.

I'm not saying that only complete idiots don't go to college, just that it requires more then what your mom who dropped out of high school after getting pregnant with you at 16 can teach you to get into a college.

one of my mates went into an apprenticeship after school, and he's of what i would describe as average nerd intelligence. i think he just likes messing around with metal.

plus when he gets his tickets or whatever he can go and work in a mine fixing machines, and get paid the big dollahs.
