I should note that I'm not overly fond of the idea of getting handouts from self-flagellating whites, but that's just me. Then again, maybe my skin isn't dark enough for me to be properly "disadvantaged".

Most of these minorities, in their under-paid jobs, are the ones holding the economies of some states even. Don't they deserve a chance, even if they might not take it or use it with wisdom? I may be too influenced by my marxist readings, but that's what I think.

Have you not heard a word anyone has said in this thread?
Financial aid based on economic situation regardless of race = good.
Financial aid based on color of skin = stupid.
I should note that the first option, if a certain minority does indeed have a higher percentage of low-paying jobs, would apply to them more anyway, without the obvious inequalities of denying aid to those of traditionally more affluent races in the same situation. It's what the school I went to (George Mason) did, and I respected them for it. There was another college that offered me a scholarship essentially because I was a minority with high SAT scores, and I turned it down. Now I ended up not finishing, but that's beside the point. The first was welcome, the second was an insult. I don't know how to say it any more simply than that.
Where's Icy, anyway? I wanted to debate his pasty white liberal ass on this...
