Ok, I klnow this has been done before, I also note that there are new people here, thus new point of views, and new debates to be had.

In the tradition of this debate, I will only get the ball rolling, so....

Does God Exist...

Well?

Kyhm is a composite of my mother's sperm and egg? Wait, thats a zygote. That zygote grew up into me. I am kyhm, and I exist. Therefor, if kyhm is God, then God exists.

We aren't, but I was stemming a thought from Ez's statement. Regardless of whether or not said entity exists, it is as absurd as what I said. Either that or ridiculously profoundly simple.

Let's run with MiB's definition of God.

A being with the power to set into motion the evolution of the laws of this universe.

When debating the existance of a God, you really have to be specific. Explain MiB's theory. And MiB, when he told it to me, never specified it to the existance of only one God. So be more specific than he was. Be it interesting, I think Abunai has found material that totally blows it out of the water (I'll drag him here to post for that one thing on the weekends when he's free from school).

But it seems really pointless in debating if God exists or not, because by usual definition, he defies logic. (Can God make a stone so heavy that He, Himself, could not lift?)

The general idea I have of is...

This works better.

Is there an entity that connects us all together.

I think Jung talked about a Colective Uncontiousness that conects us as a species together. Most religions have the same general concept. (The Heavanly Body, Brahman etc.) So let us say a greater being that connects us all together.

How is that for a start?

(Wow this debate could be about How Should We Define God?)

I think a better definition of god would be:

Is there someone/thing that:
a) Created everything (either through initiation of the process or just fiating everything into place).
and b) Gives a shit about us.

There might be an A, and there might be a B, but I doubt there's an AB.

edit: fixed it before any of you could mock me!

I'm not quibbling with semantics when I ask those two questions; they're crucial to this debate. Depending on how those two terms are defined, I'm either an atheist or a pantheist.
