Please clarify, this makes me giggle, and even when seriously trying to decipher your meaning, I am unsure.

I believe he means that both himself, his mother, and his sister have tried at points in their lives. His best friend's father succeeded.

I'm not gonna read any of this debate thread. I'm just popping in to say that yes, suicide is a reasonable option in some situations. Like having to decide whether to vote for either Kerry or Bush.

But are they really that much worse than the Green-Rainbow party?

Is it possible for someone to come to the logical conclusion that they should off themselves without being depressed, suffering, or in a stressful situation? Let's say one is perhaps bored and has nothing else better to do? Just because the majority, if not all, of humans were born with the genetic predisposition for wanting to survive, is that really a good enough reason to continue doing so? To live, to reproduce, to carry out what nature/God intended us to do, I don't really see that as being the righteous or unrighteous thing to do. If you find it easier to live then go that route. I think laziness is a good enough reason to kill yourself if you are motivated to do so. But then I also think guilt from avoiding troubling friends and family with your death is a good enough reason to live. You know, it might be a good idea just to write a suicide for yourself just in case. You might die an accidental or embarassing death that would earn you a spot on the darwin awards, unless you have yourself a note, then you planned it out that way.

I don't agree with suicide, I don't like it, and find it to be wrong. I can understand why some people do it and there are people I can almost semi-respect for doing. (note: for my purposes putting yourself in danger to save others is NOT suicide, nor is euthenasia). These are the people that go out of there way to set it up so that they cause as little trouble for others as possible. Those that I have utter contempt for are those that showboat it, if you're gonna kill yourself don't jump off a goddamn bridge where you will kill perfectly inocent, normal, and HAPPY people. That's murder, kill yourself not others and for GOD'S SAKE KILL YOURSELF SOMEWHERE OTHER THAT IN FRONT OF A GODDAMN HIGH SCHOOL. sorry. bad experiances. Do you know how dangerous it is to ride a bike when the 101 is closed and all those crazy-ass rush hour people are driving on the street and you're on a fucking bike?

Not really part of the debate, but what I do not understand is people that kill themselves over what someone else has done to them. If you have that much of an issue with someone, off them, not yourself.

As for it ever being reasonable, I agree with euthanasia (which we have established as not really "suicide"), but otherwise there is always a better option. You may have to go look for it, but there is always something better to look for.

Now, my two cents on suicide is as such:

If you're going to kill yourself, do it right. Don't pussy-foot around. Don't cry and angst. If things really are that bad, then by all means go ahead and quit living.

However... Killing yourself is the ultimate sign of giving up. Remember that.

Suicide is surrendering, and only fucking pussies surrender.

On the other hand, lets not confuse suicide with giving your life so that others may live.

PFT. They already view themselves as the worst of the worst type of people. So calling them pussies is like telling them the sky is blue whilst the sun is up. I mean, if anything, they're more likely to say, "No one needs a pussy around, I'm such a burden. I'm going to make sure no one ever has to put up with me and my pussiness again." *death*
