Anyone interested in a Call of Cthulhu play-by-post or e-mail game?

Insanity lies within. Come on, you know you want to.

For those of you who don't know, Call of Cthulhu is a roleplaying game based on the workes of HP Lovecraft, with several settings. The one we will be using will be the present day one, also known as DELTA GREEN, which is a conspiracy/horror RPG. What is Delta Green? Well, half the fun is finding out.

The game mechanics are simple enough- a d100 solves every problem and liberal use of firearms is permitted- you are gonna be, after all, feds.

Um...you can be from any federal agency, as long as you can justify being on a murder case in NYC- I can see CIA or FBI easily, but your going to have to do some thinkin' for anything else. Local law inforcement is fine, as are concerned civilians...but it is certainly not reccommended. Even for experienced players.

Character creation will be handled via an easy-to-use character generation program, which I will link if enough people show interest and we can get going.
Thanks for your time,

-MiB, of no particular hobbies...

And yes, for those curious, you do have a SAN score (short for SANity.) And every time you lose 5 or more points in a reasonable amount of time, you freak out in some random matter. Every time you lose a total of 20% of your total sanity points, you get a permanent insanity! YAY!

We're all in the same boat. MiB is just checking to see if there's any interest, before he posts any info.

OK, I'll give you the link.

http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/ ... akhee.html

Download Byakhee 3.01 and (if you need to) MFC Runtimes 4.2, then scroll down a little and download the Delta Green rules pack, and the Back of the Delta Green sheet (all available on that page)

Byakhee 3.01
MFC Runtimes 4.2 (if byakhee won't run)
Delta Green Rule Pack
Back of Delta Green Character Sheet

Unzip them all into the same folder (or if they're not zipped, throw them all in the same folder)

Run Byakhee, a menu should come up. Click on the tab that says "Investigator wizards" and double click on "Delta Green."

A translations of the ability scores are:

STR: Strength

SIZ: Size (Raises HP)

CON: Constitution (Also raises HP)

INT: Intelligence (Gives you hobby points, raises your idea roll, the roll to figure out something relevant that isn't apparent)

DEX: Dexterity. Agility, etc.

EDU: Education. Determines your Knowledge roll (remember some obscure thing, etc) and how many points you have for occupation-based skills.

APP: Appearance (how good you look, you sexy thang)

POW: Willpower. Determines your MP, luck roll, and your starting sanity points.

For all scores- the higher, the better.

I reccomend as occupation FBI Special agent or any occupation that starts with "CIA", though any (again, as long as you can justify being on a murder case in NYC) are allowed.

Authorized Guns for FBI Agents: Glock 22, 23, 27 (as concealed backup only) or any model of SUG-Sauer pistols. (Sorry people, I DID check: The FBI does NOT allowed feild agents to carry desert eagles, though you may own one privately and will be able to use it later.)

CIA Agents' gun is not public, so I'm just gonna say SIG-Sauer, any model.

Make up your own backround- you can own basically anything someone that makes 35,000 a year could own (IE, a fairly good house/apartment, some private weapon(s) if you want, hell, you can even have a wife or girlfriend)

Cellphones are a must.

That about covers everything. Oh, one last thing:

Skills are from 1-100. Depending on what occupation you choose, you will have a limited choice on what to spend a large amount of your skill points on. After your done with that, you go to the hobby menu, in which you can distribute a smaller amount of points on WHATEVER skill you want.

That is all.

Would it be possible for you to give away any of the particulars of the murder case without giving away too much of the plot? I already have a pretty good idea of what I want my character to be, but I wanna make sure that there won't be any rough edges sticking out.

(EDIT: Damnable spelling...)

OK, here's the deal:

You guys are an ad-hoc team assembled by the Office of Homeland Security, to deal with a homocide case that has to do with a middle eastern man suspected of terrorism. He killed a cop, in full view of everyone, and somehow got away.

It is suspected that the cop might have been on to him, but no one he knows has come forth to say anything. He was on a homicide case having to do with the mafia.

K, a couple things, and then I'll be quiet (Really, I promise)

-Would it be possible to put up a sample character sheet so everyone here knows what one should look like?

-and how do you want us to post the finished characters? Post them on the forums, or e-mail them directly to you, since i'm assuming that you wanna be the GM

Can't post what it'll look like...the wizard makes it too hard to mess up on this, don't worry. Just distribute all your points and you'll be fine.

When you save it, there should be a .coc file with your file name in front of it. e-mail that to me, along with any extras you'd like to include.

Almost forgot, title the e-mail COC CHARACTER SHEET or I'll probably end up deleting it

Hmmm, question, how many points should you give to the stats? (strength and such) Are they also on a 1-100 scale or something? Wouldn't want to accidentally create a total weenie or a monster.
