3 questions we have to answer here-

1. Yes or no?
2. How will we handle this RPG, in the general sense?
3. How will we handle declaring war, winning/losing etc?

My take on it-

1. Hell yes
2. First off- ask people to do this realistically. Democracies can't go declaring war left and right. A bad economy is going to piss off your people, as will few civil rights, etc.
Second, lets get a map of the region going.
3. No fscking idea. Anybody got one? Play RISK online and the one who wins the match wins the war? XD

Goddamn motherfucking commies...

1.Lets try
2.Maybe in a U.N enviroment.
3.I think we have each side make a list of forces and abilites. Both sides describe a battle and depending on how good it is everybody votes on who won.

1. I think it's worth a shot. Then again, given enough drinks, I think anything is worth a shot. XD

2. The thing is about doing this 'realistically' is that some people, such as myself, have all the governmental knowledge of a dead rat. Hell, I have no idea what you people are talking about half the time, which is why I just nod my head dumbly. Perhaps we should be going off our stats on JG? XD Which means that the only nation with more military power than mine is KC's...

3. Statistics? Pie? If it's too rigid, then only the strong will ever win, which, whilst common, isn't always correct. But if it's too loose, then a small nation could overthrow a large one too easily... I don't know. This needs to be thought on... But Barg's idea of describing the battle is good... To a point. If we go with something like this, it means the person with the best writing skill will always win.

1) Go for it. I sadly won't be in, though.

2) I forgot what you asked and am too lazy to hit back.

3) Pretty much the same thing, but now I just don't care.

I won't be in because I choose to focus on one RP at a time. Though I will still be there, and when the RT ends, I shall enter, more or less... just not til then. (This also explains why I am not in any other RPs going on, no matter how much people tell me it is "great" or whatnot.) And I apologize for the laziness, but it's just not been a good day.

There is a RP going on more or less on the actual forums to the Jen Gov site...

1: Sounds fun

2: I'll follow other's people lead in this matter

3: I'd prefer conflicts to be arranged on a more insidious diplomatic/economic level rather then open warfare, but i can adapt.

Regarding the RP-ing on the local forums. let's just say I have the impression the keesnpot boards at their worse were paradise when compared to that forum.

The reason wars are won is because somebody is better at something then the other side.

How about this- we settle conflict in multiple ways. A writing contest, and then 2-3 games agreed upon earlier. Preferably, RTS games, as they deal with nation building. Then, finally, stats are compared, and neutral judges decide the winner. I think that's fair to me- doesn't make sense, but in some twisted way, it does.

Or you could just use Civ 2 or 3. Hell you can get civ 2 for free now. And they actually deal with nation building. (and I'm pretty sure civ 2 has multiplayer)

edit: a version anyway

Well... the online multiplayer thing would be hella hard to do. For one, modem speed would be a killer. I, as well as others I know on here, only have a 56k, which means I normally only connect at 28.8.

But, if it is possible, I can do starcraft (though I lost my fucking brood wars disc so can't playthat anymore) age of mythology.. and.. hm... I don't think I have anymore games that fit in... diablo II, but it's not really competitive.

I would prefer Starcraft: Brood War, because it has that nice balance between micro and macro that you have to reach and thus doesn't become a simple 'build this' game.

Its cheap now. I think you can get both SC and SC:BW for no more than 15 bucks now.

I'm not happy with SC, for me i feel like too much of a noob when playing it. Plus for some reason i can never get a decent connection with it. I always have bad lag.

Civilization would rock, actually... not Civ 3, tho. Just Civilization 2, square world, DEATMATCH! We can even do multiplayer. In fact, with that, we could collaborate to make a World Map, and then have a neutral judge create starting spots for all of us, to represent the actual nation.

CIV2 has multiplayer? Tell me more. Or does only civ 3 have multi? Or none? Me confused.

Anyway, I like the idea of a macro RP. As for playing fair, I think people can. Anyway, lets do like in real life:Everyone gangs up on the dumbasses! : p. I'd play.
And the battle thing might not even be necesarry sometimes. Lets say someone has a clearly more powerful nation than me (Lets say its 3 nations vs mine) Well, I might as well just write a battle scene where my troops bravely fight and sabotage, but are defeated in the end.
