Actually, I just wanted a nice defensible position.

It never even occured to me that I'd be setting up shop smack dab in the middle of Mordor.

Makes sense though.

Oh, yeah. If anyone's interested, I've done a complete demographic page for Wunderland.

The Federation of P51mus has reserved spot #23.
(Right next to Wunderland....heh)

Situated on a node of magical power, all who grow up in P51mus have at least some magical power (note: in RPG terms this would mean at least 2nd level mage...) due to the ease of casting there.
Being in an area of magical power has its benefits, such as being exceptionally good for magical research. But the ease of casting in such a place means magi trained and raised in the area are less powerful when fighting in other areas.
The Magical affinity of the area also has caused an abundance of magical creatures in the area, such as dryads, other protectors of the forest, and dragons.
These creatures, though willing to defend the land against invaders, refuse to leave (either because of choice or inability to leave), except dragons might in exceptional circumstances (that would be, another faction being cruel to dragons or something particularly heinous done to people for the more crusading good types).
(This would translate into a defensive bonus and an offensive penalty)

Evil fantasy creatures are extremely rare partly due to the ancient alliance formed between dragons and magi in the area, but show up occasionally.

The federation is an alliance of races that was set up ages ago in the region, made up of Elves, Dwarves, Humans, Dragons, Halflings, Gnomes, Sprites... The reason for naming the Federation P51mus has been lost through the ages, but is widely thought to be the result of some inane compromise between the groups.

(History of Government coming up later)

The Dominion of Lacerta Mycopa lay claim to the area known by the number 28, so has the Pyronic Council decreed. The moist sea air suits the mushrooms we grow, that are famed as a delicacy. In the hot caves of the mountains, the lizards thrive, magical and mundane alike. We may seem fickle and unbalanced of psyche, for our thoughts oft wander down mysterious ways.

OoC: New to this, let's see how it works out.

Edit: Council, not counsel. Stupid me

The Confederacy of Chuckleheads looks to the northwestern area #2 to establish this new home for responsible, right thinking folks who like fun, but still don't keep the neighbors up at night unless of course they are into that.

Damn, must have missed your post. Not that I want to cause unrest, but I'm going to pick #1 then. Water is a valuable commodity to the stalwart penguin after all

The Confederacy of Orcish Clans claim area 18 as our tribal and racial homelands, and if you disagree, well, it's your funeral...

Good old Uncle Tyranny has been roused. The many legions of his followers have been seen mobilising. A previously peaceful economy has been geared for war, as highly profitable uranium mining increases and government spending is plowed into the military. Scouts have been seen fleetingly on its boundaries of area 16 and sightings of operatives have also been rumored in a number of other countries.

1 of the founding nations of expataria has finally opened its gaze from within itself to surrounding countries near and far. Its huge population, one of the largest in expataria have been called to their countries aid and now it sits like a dozing giant, awaiting the first pin prick to awaken its ferocity. The people feel the call saying only to the foreign journalists and operatives, "We have a duty, sir, shortly to go; Our master calls us. We must not say no."

"The weight of this sad time we must obey, Speak what we feel, not what we ought to say. The oldest hath borne most; we that are young Shall never see so much nor live so long."

*the forces of good old uncle tyranny have been seen within the boundaries of area 16*

(I think a small list of which countries are in which sections would be nice...and eventually updating the map to place the names of countries on appropriate sections. maybe I'll do the first part myself....If I can get myself to do it that is)

PC pointed this out to me (he's playing this a lot) - http://settlers.cs.northwestern.edu/ Java Settlers of Catan is a fscking good way of solving conflicts. You can even allow people with substantially larger forces to log in twice and control a robot... hell, I quite like this game.

[edit: fucking HTML not working... arg!]

If any of these countries are now defunct, it would be nice to tell me so I can strike them off the list. Also any country names not listed, or that are wrong. (I just took them off the post of whoever's country they are, so they shouldn't be)
Frempath was omitted because...I don't think he's been around for a really long time.
