I have two announcements to make.

First. As I'm sure many of you already know, my country and The Holy Empire of Cecily have formed an alliance.

Second, you should try the Creme Brulee (sic) it is flaming good.

Thank you.

A voice deep as the ocean, quiets as the grave and dry like a dusty wind is heard over the chatter of the table. "I have never dreamed girl and neither do my children." Sitting deeply in one seat is the man who is only know as good old uncle tyranny. He sits with his dark pools of eyes looking at the girl with a cursory glance. He has a bald head and wears what appears to be very technologically advanced clothing. In his head nano technology relates all that he is experiencing to the AI council back in the democratic states. Being the only individual who is also a member of the hive he listens to their commentary but however retains complete control to over rule anything they suggest. His sight is over lain with statistics as if he wore an HUD. Even now when he is maintaining a presence at the gathering he is also making parralell decisions all over his country. Considering everyone at the table it appears only the man called Warsmith has technology close to his. However many of the other countries showed a high knowledge of magic. "When my children take their rest periods their mind joins the matrix, you have no dominion over them if their minds never leave my grasp." The traces of what might be A menacing smile seem to pass omentarily over his lips, doubtful if it even did happen, "I have no fear of dreams, it is usually the beings of dreams who fear me." He makes like a statement of fact.

He continues to observe the fighting between the communists and capitlists. Technology provided the solutions for that, although the people still solved the basic economic problem with consumer votes, they were also united together in the hive if they wanted to join. He continues to watch as facts and figures appear before him, he hears the opinion of the AI then makes a decision, all within the fraction of a second.

Glancing over at the man who made the comment about not dreaming Alice mumbles, "Those that do not dream, do not live. All enter my realm, though some are not aware of it." She smiles slightly before reaching for her suddenly full cup of tea. Anyone proficient with subtle magic, or high technology trancievers will recognize Alice subvocalizing constantly.

(OoC: In case you don't know what subvocalizing is: it's when you barely move your jaw muscles in an approximation of voice. This is useful when performing standard magic spells, or talking using a high tech-level transmitter/reciever.)

The man turns his head slightly to regard the small girl again. With hidden undertones of contempt he says quietly but clearly, "Life can be a very broadly defined term young girl. What you believe as life may only be life by narrow human definitions."

Poena's eyes narrow as she looks at Good Old Uncle Tyranny: "What the undead term as 'life' is only a mockery of such. You will keep your blight away from the Federation, or be finally forced to the afterlife you have unholily kept yourself away from."

For the first time, Alice laughs. Long and hard, and after finally wiping away tears, she speaks clearly, "Sir, I deal with the undead, unliving, immortal, and insubstantial during every moment of my existance. My dreams have dreams, and that can get complicated. The body contains programming, memory. Your soul contains far more. I was saddened when you left us... but your mark has not yet faded." Waving a hand at the brooding Warsmith and with a wry smile, "Nor has young Ironfist's."

"It is quite unfortunate that most highly technological races have left behind the bonds of religion. With religion comes enlightenment far greater than the material. Technology may be an alternate path, but a path eventually meeting with everyone else's. I will again meet you in Wunderland, as I will meet all who exist."

(OoC: Anyone read Sandman? From what I've been introduced to... this is strangely similar to bits. Also, some may argue that the Undead do not have souls - but I believe quite the opposite - the soul and will to exist is what keeps the Undead going. With some, the wish to fight off Death takes it's toll.)

The man laughs inwardly at what they percieve as triumph, "I never said i was undead" He says to the representative from P51mus. "Nor did i say i was human, child." He says looking at the little girl what might have been percieved as a slight flash crossing his eyes.

The mighty Warsmith turns to face the man that is drawing attention to those near.

You blatently belive that technology is the answer? I have lived far longer than you could hope to and if I have learned just one thing, it is that it is the spirt of the being that is important. You may look upon the world with technologically enhanced eyes, and I can look upon the world with biologically enhanced eyes I can also view the world with my immaterium form. In this way I have walked accross the universe, stood upon the surface of the stars, I have seen and done things that you can not even imagine. And on last thing, I think you have no right to call someone young, till you have lived for at least half my age, boy.

This last word is filled with dislikement of the man and it hangs in the air for longer than most other words do.

The man looked at the one called Warsmith with some amusement. "You are so certain to boast your superior lifespan. As the crude but apt statement puts it 'assumption is the mother of all fuck ups'. You all seem to assume that i rely on technology, and you Warsmith seem fit to deem me with age on your life scale. Technology is no answer, but it is certainly a tool."

"Now, let us not discuss who is older of the nanotech lich and the power armoured one. What does it matter, and what does it bring?"

"You speak of religion, Alice, but I ask "What is religion?" Few who live in Lacerta Mycopa believe in any god or gods. Yet neither do we completely deny that some such otherworldly power might exist. What we believe in most strongly is the human mind, and preferably the free-roaming mind."

(still with a slightly angered tone in Poena's voice)

"You may not have said you are undead, but you reek of death and yet you 'live'. The stench of your kind is unmistakable. And whether you are human or not does not matter, the undead come in many forms. I repeat myself: whatever plans you may have, they must stay away from the Federation."

(Note: Relatively early in the Federation's history it had to deal with various undead that happened to reside on the region they settled on... Fighting was fierce for both sides, but eventually The Federation triumphed, though the war was not without its toll. A teaching of the horrors/ unholiness of the undead has been passed through the generations. The fact that the nature religion the country follows regards the undead as unholy abominations to be destroyed compounds matters. Poena is less fanatical about it than most...about half the population would have tried to destroy uncle tyranny by now, regardless of consquences. Her good sense is why she's the representative...)

OOC: my guy wasn't originally intended to be undead, he's immortal because i think he's some higher plane energy creature banished into a mortal shell. the lich spell was just giving him eternal life again so he didn't have to drain the life force, now he relies partly on nano technology to keep his mortal body alive. But now i'm not sure whether or not to deny being undead, i think it might be more entertaining and add an interesting element in. but my people are certainly are not undead, although their concious lives forver in the hive when they expire after their artificialy enhanced life spans. But anyone wo wants to knnow more about my character read my country description. I see some of you have but you didn't write what you thought about it. i wrote in on the spot yet i felt it was an interesting little yarn even if i do say so myself.

OOC: Well, Poena hasn't had contact with your people, just the leader. And quite frankly....the lich thing would probably make him undead. At the very least the rotting from the decay spell cast on him would give the appearance of undeath to undead sensitive individuals.

OOC: To tell the truth it was only the men who interpereted the spell as a liching spell. Though your right about the constant decay probably giving off the impression of undeath.

*looks over towards the representative from Ketrel* If you will excuse me for a second.

*rises out of his chair and walks over towards Alice. He reaches her side and when he manages to gain her attention he begins to glow and the glow surrounds both him and alice blurring others view and shutting out sound.*

I hope you do not mind my lady for the ward. If you object I will drop it immediately. I overheard you discussion about dreams and was very interested. Dreams are a dangerous and powerful medium.

I seem to recall you had a treaty to sign. I was wondering if I may have a copy to look at for a while.

-Lifyre

[ooc]what he says remains the same ward or no ward, except he will try to appologize if he offends. He will say thank you and return to his seat afterwards as well.[/ooc]

"Oh, by all means. I have nothing to hide from the people here, however. As for dreams, yes, I totally agree. I am proof of how powerful dreams can truly be. My Jabberwocky is proof of how dangerous...

"As for this treaty, it's more of a business contract. People sign, they may enter. Of course, people have to enter, so those that do not sign now, create much paperwork for me later."

Smiling, Alice picks up the parchment and hands it over. By now the first few signatures have begun to fade ever so slightly. Explaining, "Every country in the world needs to sign this... without special measures, the names would quickly turn this paper black.. or red, as the case may be." Waving her hand through the place for signatures, hundreds of thousands of others fade into existance, blackening the page, and fade back out. Wands, swords, cups, pentacles, and keys all appear next to names.

*Immanio and his lizard have been moving slowly among the representatives. Now he raises his voice again.*
I am aware that many here are not members of the United Nations. I would still like to bring up a matter that concerns the UN. Perhaps some who are not currently members will later decide to join.

For a time now, the regional delegate from Expataria has been changing between Lupine and Kyokan. I have not yet got a full overview of their positions on issues that may arise in the UN, or the extent of their commitment. Neither are they, of course, the only UN members in our region. Therefore I would like to ask all who are willing, or perhaps wish, to become or stay regional delegate to state so. I would also be most grateful if they would sum up in brief what their general position would be, so as to make the basis for a well-founded choice for all who seek someone to represent them.

Let me be the first to say that if called upon, I am willing to bear the responsibility. If this should happen, know then the views of Lacerta Mycopa in the UN:
Our prime priority abroad, as in our own country, would be education. We would also work to better social welfare, and try to avoid that all wealth is gathered as luxuries by a lucky few. It is our view that wealth should be distributed more evenly, so the low do not have to starve for the rich to live in decadence. Lastly, let me state that we wish to work for peaceful solutions, and for nations to rely less on military power.
*After saying this, Immanio looks around for a few seconds, before commencing a quiet conversation with Fungus.*

*rises to answer the question posed*

Our philosophy is a very hands off one. We believe that the government of a country is better fit to rule that country than some foreign power. However this means that we can not in good faith encourgae membership in the UN even if it may enhance our position. Membership in the UN MUST be voluntary since it is a forgein governing body.

We also support trade, education, large amounts of civil rights, and governments by the people. However these are OUR values and we know that they probably differ from your own.

If you have a problem with the way we vote as UN Delegate please bring your concerns to us. We may have missed a part of the legislation or not understood your views. It would also give us a chance to explain our position. An open forum is a must.

If I have created more questions than I have answered I apologize. I also hope you give me a chance to answer them.

*sits back down, sips at his drink, and makes small talk with his neighbors.*

Arthur stood up, and cleared his throat.

"I have an announcement to make." he said. "The Republic of Goldland and the nation of Valenzuela have signed a free trade agreement and a mutual protection pact. Any nation that attacks Valenzuela will be attacked by us, and any nation that attacks Goldland will in turn be attacked by Valenzuela. The treaty does not, however, extend to initiations of war by us, only to attacks on us."

Speaking of alliances. Now would be an appropriate time to announce thay my nation, Lupine, and Valenvuela have signed a free trade agreement for the enrichment of both our countries.
