Obviously, a Road Trip movie will never be made, so any speculation about it would be useless...

However - if RT was turned into a movie, who would you cast as the different characters?

Icy, of course, would probably be totally CG. I'm trying to figure out who would do his voice, though.

I know this is a kind of random topic, but I think I remember similar speculation about EN happening a while ago... So I figured why ask everyone what they thought.

Hmm . . .

Ignoring the random popup characters, and focusing on the main cast . . .

Who would direct? Guillermo del Toro. (Is that his name?) The guy who did Blade II and is currently doing Hellboy.

Bishou--I keep thinking Hugh jackman or Keanu Reeves, but neither of them have reasonably assured me of their ability to act, only that the movies they've been in recently deal with similar themes.

Mad--Colin Farrell or Hugh Jackman, depending on who gets Bishou's role.

Rand--A little tougher . . . hmm. Psychotic Belgian? Alan Rickman. (Close enough.)

Actor--Emotionless assassin with a heart o'gold . . . Edward Norton.

(Avoiding the inevitable--who would I pick to play Kit? Rampant indecision will continue.)

MiaoMing--Would have to be motion-captured CG, as I can't see any actress who would willingly submit to the makeup jobs that she'd have to go through without being a Star Trek actress, and I think that just rules them out to begin with. Voice: Since she's a late teen, the closest-age VA who's a good actress as well (and would be willing to participate in the chaos that RT would be on film) is Kirsten Dunst.

(Why do they all have to be big names? Why can't there be unknowns? Because they're unknown, duh. I pick what I know. Besides, RT would be a big-budget flick.)

TSC--I keep thinking Brad Pitt, thanks to Fight Club. Dammit.

Ez--Elijah Wood. For God's sake, I wish I knew why, but he fits.

(I will never willingly cast a person using Ben Affleck. I hate Ben Affleck.)

(Dun dun dunnn . . . dammit, why?!)

Kit--Aaron Stanford.

All the others, I'm drawing a blank on. There's no actor I can think of who could play the character yet is in the right age bracket to look the part!

EDIT: Thank ye, Baron.

Aaron Stanford. IMDB is your buddy.

I'd have to play myself. There's no way around that. I'd be a no-name actor... Blue doesn't have a major part in the entirety of teh story anyway... so being myself would work fine...

Well, granted she wasn't around for long, but this one keeps popping into my head, and that's Eliza Dushku as YiA.

Dolph Lundgren as Antenor
Mathew Maconhey(not sure how to spell his name) as Wolf
James Purefoy (he was Spence in Residnet Evil) as Vandal
And for some reason I can see John Cusack as doing the voice of Icy. I think that would be awesome.

Hey, what you got against Trek girls? :P

Seriously, though, what with all the makeup that some of those X-Men (and women) had to put up with, don't you think there's more actresses these days who would be willing to go the distance? Especially for an extravaganza like Road Trip, and a character like MiaoMing. (Then again, the fact that Dominic might keep trying to break into her trailer might be something of a deterrent. Hmmm.... ;-) )

Keanu didn't prove his talent in Bill and Ted? It's all right there! As for Jackman, Paperback Hero? Kate and Leopold? Perhaps when he was on Broadway?

Well I know that Ant would have to be CG'ed (trust me, he would have to be) and though I don't know who would voice him (though give me some time and some voices of actors and I might be able to find someone) I would like him to be a more real version of the Blood Angels that Exile films have done for the Bloodquest movie (and anyone whose seen the teaser will know why).

EDIT: Just did a search on the guy Vandal suggested and I have to a agree whole heartedly, though I still recone that he'd have to be CG'ed, he still has the voice that could pull it off, and might not have to be CG'ed.

/me knows next to nothing about actors so just checked his own people by google.

Hmm...the crazy knight of 'Les Visiteurs' and 'Severius Snape' Can't say I can't find myself in those choices, though the first is betetr for the comic scenes and Snape for the more 'scary' moments.

Remember, Rickman has been in other things besides HP, Randy. The first that comes to mind is his portrayal of the Metatron, in Kevin Smith's Dogma. Damn, he did a awesome job in that.

And I'll take Cussack over Wood anyday. I can imagine the conversation if Wood portrayed him...

Ez: Mad... I've been having this problems.
Mad: Huh?
Ez: ... Peeing problems.
Mad: ... That's nice.
Ez: ... I've been peeing angst. In chucks.
Mad: ... Back the fuck up.

Rickman also played the Sherriff of Nottingham in Prince of Thieves, and did a damn good job of it.

Just a note that whoever would play BiShou would have triple duty as not only BiShou, but also Fold and Chris, as well, and be able to pull off a familiarity look to each, while distinguishing each character from the other.

In his own ego driven mind, BiShou sees himself as capable of pulling it off... let alone "Who better to play myself than... myself?"

Though Mortensen was a good choice, I must say.

I don't think that after seeing the first drawn pic of Rand, I will ever shake the mental image of "Rand is Howard Stern?!?"...

Malkovich would indeed make a great Icy voice.

Oh, and Flannery was also in Powder and Suicide Kings. Which also brings another point... Christopher Walken may be able to tackle the evils of Orochi, Jeremy Sisto could possibly fill Rand, and Henry Thomas sounds about right for Ez.

As for the entire concept of making a feature length film based upon the Road Trip... Only time will tell.

-Fold
Indeed.

HOT SHIT! I get to be Matt Damon! Uber smart (Good Will Hunting), trained assassin (Borne Identity), sneaky shit (Oceans 11) and good earthy looks!

Don't you mean Janet Reno for Rand? *Lifyre Ducks* Seriously though... wouldn't he be better played as Ben Aflack (sic - QUACK!). I mean Damon and Aflack almost have to be in the same movie! Especially when they provide so much comic relief together!
