Name: Alex Walker
Alias: Victoria d'Shea
Age: 19
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 125 lbs.
Blood Type: O-
Physical Appearance: Tall, lithe, well-toned and attractive, Victoria has sun-streaked, honey colored hair that falls in straight tresses over her shoulders and a few inches further below. Her eyes are a mottled mix of grey, blue, and green, likely a result of her genetic testing, that seem to swirl about casually, like separated liquids. She wears a simple cord around her neck, and from it hangs a tear-shaped bead with a chinese symbol painted on one hemisphere and a pacific-looking flower painted on the other, and has a variety of piercings. Her nails are manicured but short, as she's growing out of nervous habit of biting them. She sometimes wears non-prescription glasses, passing them off as "necessary for reading", to lessen the likelihood of someone thinking her oddly talented or physically gifted.
Renown: Daughter of a powerful and sadistic Para loosely and incorrectly linked with the Expatriates, Arden "Strife" Walker, and part of the reason of her adopted alias.
Origin: Norfolk Naval Base, Virginia, America.
Personality: Generally an easy-going person, though she's not the fastest to trust new people or strangers, she doesn't have solid "trust issues." She's exceptionally intelligent and intuitive, but hardly the "nerdy" type. She tries to get away from her anxiety about keeping so much of her life hidden by leading a fairly normal social life.
History: She was taken into custody as an infant after her father killed her biological mother in a crazed rage. After the details of her interesting genetic history were disclosed, she was transferred to Norfolk Naval Base. At the time, the base housed the leading facility on paranormal investigations, under the name Paranormal Research and Technology Institute, codenamed PARENT to make it sound warm and fuzzy to the legislators that controlled the money flow, although that made precious little difference when PARENT disappeared into the red-tape of invested officials, and the billions of unaccounted for dollars every year were largely diverted to the organizations funding.
Enduring a myriad of testing, poking, and prodding, Alex Walker was raised and genetically modified as she grew, sustaining intense physical and mental training. The concept of PARENT was to create a controllable asset out of the younger specimens that were captured - assassins that didn't have the sentimental quality of a regular person and could be risked without a second thought, but that were superior to a normal, mundane human in every way.
To bring out recessive qualities, the children were foolishly exposed to radiation. What the overseers of the program failed to realize was that, without the proper genetic protection, the paras in the care were as easily injured by the radiation as a normal human. Many of the subjects succumbed to the intensive daily routine and became ill, and some even died, but, much to the facility's delighty, Alex continued at an uninhibited pace, developing at a rapid rate.
By the age of fifteen, however, Alex led a few of the other stronger para children, now para teenagers, concocted a plot to escape the facility. Combining their well-developed abilities, they captured the labratory from the inside out and escaped through the ventilation system, disappearing into the world. Most of them were caught and killed, but, staying true to her file, Alex had been the strongest and most intelligent of the lot, and was never heard of again. Shortly thereafter, PARENT was closed, its files burnt, and its facilities vacated and destroyed to be replaced with an aircraft hangar.
Adopting the name "Victoria d'Shea", she used all her abilities to make a new life for herself, often passing herself off as older than she was to get jobs. As she grew older, she tried to rely less and less on her talents, but secretly put hours towards honing them in the event she might ever have to run again.
Powers: Her abilities are divided into two categories. Those she was born with, and weren't honed by her time with PARENT, and those that were genetically modified into her body as a result of testing and training.
Natural: Psychometry: Ability to draw information, past, present, or future, from an object or person through touch.
Blending: Not nearly the ability to become invisible, but makes herself less apparent to people's eyes, who just glaze over her when she employs this skill. To another person, it's the equivalent of not being there at all. It cancels out Charisma entirely.
Charisma: This effects different people differently, but mostly to the tune of having others drawn to and/or fascinated with her, not in a physical/sexual way, albeit that's sometimes how this unique attraction is manifested. This power varies from calming down riled animals to convincing people to change their minds about significant issues purely on her behalf. Depending on the person, the effects of this ability may or may not last once she's gone.
Agility: Her speed is extremely impressive, but what defies most of the accepted laws of physics is her ability to change directions in a split second. This talent is natural but was enhanced by PARENT.
Artificial: Strength and speed: A primary genetic modification, these are as the name implies. While not quite on par with Superman or some of the other Big-Bads, she could probably put down any given member in of the WWF in an arm-wrestle without much exertion, and outrun most animals, to say nothing of normal humans.
Adaptation: A part of her enhanced intelligence and survival capabilities, she can adapt easily to environments, situations, weapons, and even languages, although it takes quite some time (a few days) for something that extensive. For instance, if she were in a fight, she could pick up a weapon she'd never used before, and within a few moments she'd be rather proficient.
Strategy: Another tangent of her enhanced intelligence - her capacity to digest and analyze large quantities of information rivals a modern computer. This includes inferring probability ratios, comprehending advanced physics to decipher how hard to throw a ball, and decoding encrypted messages. She finds patterns quickly, and exploits them. Puzzles and "brain teasers" are to her as banal and simple as 1 + 1.
Premonition: An extended sixth sense that allows her to foresee events in the immediate future. Unless they are extremely profound and significant and in direct relation to her, this is usually no further away than, at the most, an hour or so.
