No, Kry, I've had deja vu and this is markedly dissimilar.

Thank you all for your analysis.

Interesting notion: The feeling of seeing something as new or novel, as if for the first time, even though it's relatively commonplace, is called jamais vu. All the good inventors have this a lot.

Yes, goblins, WI. Not your usual rat eating hobbit killers you find in yoru modern day rpgs, but the color coded midget type that sucks the hues out of rainbows for sustenance and releases it in cakewalk's vinyl like rainbow alphabet soup.

Little superguy dances to it when he's not holding ginger ale and licorice straws.

Everyone should die at the end, mind you, but it should not be as long as Wagner's Ring.

There shall also be a penultimate duel involving tar pits and giant robots built specifically for rock-paper-scissors, and a lighthouse from which lighthouse-keeper's assistant/red shirt #2 observes the invading alien armies swarming in from sea, before getting vaporized and thus rendered incapable of warning the coast guard. His scull hitting the tower landing should make a "thok" sound.

Another good idea would be to make sure that there are Stoats in the story.

Any and all aliens involved in the story should repeatedly be described as "like a bunch of little old ladies playing lawn bowls" compared to the Loathsome Wurg. This will be foreshadowing for the inevitable sequel.

It would be personally pleasing to me if the story were narrated entirely in the form of famous quotes from Oscar Wilde, Mark Twain, Winston Churchill and Harlan Ellison.

If you can't find enough Harlan Ellison quotes it would be acceptable to replace him with Steve Irwin speculating endlessly as to whether or not two of the main characters are about to mate.

Boring points in the story should be broken up with black and white tableaux depicting scenes from the Final Battle for the Fate of Stoatopia.

Then perhaps it isn't deja vu I experiance afterall.

I personally have the exact same thing happen to me, though.

My actual guess as to what it is:

The human mind has two levels of conciousness. One that thinks, another that acts. The acting level of conciousness is a very low level and rapid response setup that can act even before the act has been thought of. See reflexes and such for quick and simple examples.

When that feeling happens to me, my thoughts seem like an echo. As if I'm thinking twice. My guess is I'm actually becoming aware of and partially able to actively control my lower level brain. Gives me the ability to act without thinking, even thought I actually did.

Oh, him. Yeah, he rocks.

As well as being a really interesting demonstration of the object/representation duality, at least to a six-year-old, or however old I was. I mean, he’s a drawing, yet he’s embedded within and interacts with the real world. Madness!

Markov chain generator?

You defeated Google in my attempt to understand that, my friend. Google. I got something about goblins and the cup-guy dancing... Apparently there’s a company called Cakewalk that makes audio software, which may or may not have something to do with it.

The goblins are making music out the ingested colors of rainbows which the Teeny Little Super Guy can dance to?

I hereby demand a hit of whatever you’re on, to help with writing the story.

Anyway, if anyone has a couple more to sneak in, now’s the time, since I think I have about enough to cut it off now...

Blatant allegory for real world events.

In response to the earlier question that I forgot to answer in my haste to describe this, the aforementioned feeling was experienced during, and for half an hour after, the terrible , horrible dream. Another interesting aspect to that same vivid fantasy was the sensation of actual, jolting pain I experienced when I was stabbed by the pointy floaty thing, which woke me up. That happened a lot in my childhood nightmares, actual, tangible pain, the only physical sensation I've ever felt in dreams. Do you often have dreams in which you can feel things, as well as seeing and hearing them?

Superguy holds ginger ale, as he is also made of cup, savvy? You can drink stuff through red vines if you bite off the ends. Cool?

cakewalk is the man who supplied the picture of little superguy, if you'll remember. Cakewalk: I thought it was a given that all the characters were stoats and weasels, with some goblin stoats, and one teeny little superleastweaselguy? Was I wrong?

You should go with the mad magazine approach to character names, perhaps as a parody of "Reign of Fire", or "The Matrix".

I'm not high, I'm just really really not smart. It is time that you learned this.

Hmm, allright...

Yeah, what the heck?

MARK.

(Although I may ignore spools’s last one, just because I hate MAD’s naming conventions.

Now to go forget all about this, until I suddenly remember I was supposed to do it, and then rush to throw something up as quickly as possible. How can I make this prediction with such certainty? Because that’s how I get everything done...)
