I think I'm going to try it. Here is what you need to know for starters.

There are a bunch of supernatural factions, as in different creatures.

Vampires
Werewolves
Other Were Creatures Called Fera
Fey (Called Changlings)
Mages
Mummies
Demons
Hunters
Wraiths

There are regular humans with extra ordinary powers. Practitioners of magic (sorcerers), People with ESP (Numina), and people semi related to the other supernaturals. I know the world well enough to work something out for whatever you want to do.

I want this to be freeform... just don't create God.

Oh, and I do want these character's powers to be based off of the game, but this still opens the door for quite a lot.

I'll create the game thread in a week.

I also need to do a reminder here. One of the hardest things I've found in roleplaying, is roleplaying ignorance. You do not need to know everything in the game to play, simply because ignorace is abundant in the oWOD. It's been noted by a few of my freinds that in most stories, they don't even give names to Vampire powers. They just have them.

Don't have any books. Is this a freeform game, or what?

If it's freeform... a computer hacker who is a Ragabash werewolf, but doesn't know it until the game starts.

Yes it is Free form, and I'll admit, Whiny assholes have ruined WoD, but I still lke it as a world, which is why I want to play it...

Yeah, it has gotten a reputation as a result of goths, but it doesn't have to be that way. Depending on the party, it could be as heroic as a DnD game (the darker the world, the bigger the heroism), or as antiheroic-badass as Shadowrun. Or the Punisher, for that matter (and the Punisher would likely become a Hunter, should he wind up in the WoD).

So... where will this be set?

*hopes for Florida*

Actually, yeah. Flesh out the area we'll be in and I'll be able to come up with a more realistic character that way.

In all honesty, I am thinking of having it set up in a generic metropolise, like Matrix. The city Be generic, and inter city politics being reduced.

If someone has a better suggestion, I'll hear it.

Okay then... does the city have Castle laws in effect?

If it does, it'll make killing anything dumb enough to attack you when you're at home much more easy to defend yourself against, without breaking the law. They're in your home, you beleive they're trying to seriously hurt you, so you can kill them.

Also... what sorts of supernatural powers would a starting werewolf be able to display? Just the shapechanging and transition into Umbra, or would other things be possible as well?

I would assume that if you are a hacker you would probably be a glass walker... depending on your the feel of your character, you can do cool computer trick, or shoot a gun really well. It depends. If you want to push the inexperienced edge, then your pretty much stuck to basic powers.

And I would assume that the castle Law would be in effect...

Yes, I was going to make him a Glass Walker. Cool computer tricks, huh? What sort of tricks are we talking about, here? "I make programs really well" (possible) or "I decrypt things without a key" (virtually impossible)?

If the Virtual Adepts can use their magic to enter their Digital Web Umbral Realm, and normal people can access it (but not fully immerse like the mages), and werewolves can enter the Umbra by looking into reflective surfaces... can werewolves who are accessing the Digital Web mundanely enter into it by looking into a reflective surface (like, say, the CRT screen of their computer monitor)?

Also, what happens to vampires/mummies/other beings who need magic to live if they somehow wind up in the Null Zone in the Near Umbra? What about transformed werewolves?

How do the Vampires keep the Masquerade going, when werewolves know about them, and maintain cordial relationships with their human families? Does the Masquerade not apply to other supernaturals?

Is it possible for a Werewolf to Awaken his Avatar, assuming they even have one?

I'm suprised more people haven't shown an interest, especially with the following the Punisher has here.

Come on, the Punisher vs. The oWoD. That'd be fun to play in.

The Realms are your playground. Given a Mirror, you can "step sidways" into the Umbral realms, and from there, to anywhere else. Go dimention hopping. Unlike Mages an vamps, you PHYSICALY go there. Now Glass Walkers (due to a hacker faction that sprung up) use the Digital Web as there playground... actually you can pull off some real matrix like stuff with them (Phone teleportations, and limited reality hacks.)

You can turn into a human, a savage looking human, a huge were-wolf, a dire wolf, and a normal wolf. Any form other then the one you were born in will allow you to heal.

You can control simple machines by communing with the spirits inside of them, allowing you to flip levers, push buttons, open doors... etc.

You can find out what is wrong with and fix machines easily, by connecting to said spirits... (I don't want to be broken, help me?)

Gun tricks, as I said earlier. (Hollywood style shots, but no one shot kills or wounds... but shooting away weapons, bounce shots, all a sinch for you.)

That gives you the power level to work with.

Nature stuff is also available.

Oh, btw, if you worship the Cockroach spirit, you can do google/wiki searches at any time, without the need for a computer.

Well, I'd love to play but I'm not familiar at all with the setting, and it sounds like I'd need to do a ton of reading. (trying to confron the Wiki on it was like looking at the stairs of the Sears tower.)

Would it be cool if I sort of... improvised?

The White Wolf fans would eat you alive.
I know from experience.

Name: Stephen Crane
Age: 23
Tribe: Glass Walker Werewolf

Backstory:

Stephen was concieved following a series of one night stands by his mother. As a result, he has no idea who his father is, and never has (though he would presume his father is a Glass Walker werewolf, once he discovered he is a werewolf). It doesn't bother him much. It just means he was closer to his grandfather than he likely would have been.

His mother converted to born-again Christianity when he was a child, and as a result possesses a fairly strong Christian faith, something fairly unusual for the hacker circles he travels in. That said, he doesn't push his faith on others, as he believes it is their choice to make, and that they will suffer the consequences of their choices once they die.

In any case, he's always possessed a strong intellect, and a fascination with machines of all sorts. Combine this with a desire to better the world, and it should be no surprise he wound up becoming a hacker once he went to university (doing an IT degree). He has since survived by doing freelance coding and similar things for companies (and has acquired something of a reputation for delivering code that works well, and doing so before the deadline), while using the rest of his time for his less legal endeavors.

Appearance:

Stephen is about six feet tall, and fairly thin. He keeps his black hair back in a ponytail, and typically has a fair amount of stubble from forgetting to shave. He typically wears a T-shirt and a pair of jeans under a black trenchcoat, and conceals at least one pistol and two knives on him at all times. As a wolf, he is a bit on the scrawny side, and covered in black fur.

Motivations:

To make the world a better place through the use of hacking.
To survive doing the above.
To have nerdy fun on his free time.
