OOC: DM info on what? PM me if you have a concern- I'm purposefully waiting before next post, unless I missed something, there's no need for me to respond to what's going on right now.

OOC: A response from Ignonivich would be nice. I left the door open for you to give us some information that you would only know. THerefore Ignonivich needs to be controled by you for a little bit.

OOC: I'm kind of waiting for Baron and Kali to finish whatever they're doing, since I honestly don't have a clue about it.

OOC: That's all me, baby. Go ahead and post, just don't monkey with mine or Kali's characters.

[OOC: My God! The thread's starting to slip away! Get me the shock paddles! We're not gonna lose another one, dammit...]

"Hail, Alex."

Alex stopped midstride, desperately trying to remember who the owner of the familiar, gravelly voice was.

"Over here, man, over here!"

An uncharacteristic smile suddenly split the usually reserved mercenary's face as he turned to face the speaker, a big man in an overcoat leaning nonchalantly against the wall of a lean-to.

"Niall Kirkpatrick... still alive, I see. Dammit. You just cost me a five credit bet."

Niall laughed in spite of himself.

"Funny. Now get over here and out of the middle of the goddamn street, you're blocking traffic."

Alex walked over to the man in the overcoat. Remembering his trade, he kept his distance, wondering if his acquiantance was holding onto any explosive compounds.

A: "So Niall, still working on alchemy? I keep telling you that you're not gonna be able to live on that alone."
N: "It works enough for me. At least I'm not going to get killed on the job."
A: "Perhaps, but I still prefer the rush I get in a good fight. So what have you been up to?"
N: "Not much. A few potions here and there, but nothing too interesting. What about you?"
A: "I just got off a job escorting food here. It wasn't much, but I got to crack a few heads. The pay was good though. Oh, I'm heading over to the mansion to check out something, do you want to come?"
N: "Sure, I've got nothing better to do for now."

Niall picked up his bag off the ground and slung it over his shoulder before following Alex to the mansion.

The last few stragglers were ushered into the audience chamber just as Igonovich began to speak.

"I cannot, as a matter of fact, tell you anything about the object in question. It was simply an interesting piece of technology to me, and one that our dear Stephen was not interested in selling, at that. I have a modest collection of such relics, as you can see."

Igonovich motioned vaguely at the wall behind the desk, which was indeed dominated by several large display cases containing various pieces of technology.

"Now, if there was nothing else, I'll arrange for someone to escort you to the door. I'm rather busy at the moment, what with the current situation in the city."

Igonovich's eyes lingered pointedly on Hra'rok'nol, before returning to their sweep of the group.

Selkinzan raised an eyebrow at the claim. "Very well. I have been... unsuccesful in finding anything remotely resembling paltable Fungus wine in this... backwater. Bring me a goblet of yellow Funguswine from the Grape Worker family... of at least ten years of age of course."

The words weren't cold or the girl produced a golden goblet, filled with a yellowish liquid. The Craftsman noble calmly took it and smelled it. Then sipped. The girl waited calmly in front of him, as Selkinzan took his time in drinking the driml. After emptuing he casually handed her the goblet.

"A good year, but Yellow fungus wine is supposed to be served only slightly chilled, not cold. An oversight that is... understabdable I assume. Very well... you may consider yourself in service under the protection of the Bladesmith House." He reached into his pocket, and took out a small golden diss. On it was etched a sword and an anvil. "When you are performing services for me, show this. Anyone disrespecting you then, shall be disrespecting House Bladesmith." He looked down at the corpses. "And shall be dealt with, as should be." The girl took the disc and Selkinzan turned away, as if he had lost interest.

"There are servant's quarters in the embassy. They should be better then most... hovels in this forsaken district. Accomodation is part of your due."

The girl smiled and bowed. "Thank you, my Lord. But I have a place to stay already."

"Very well then... I shall proceed to the embassy then..." He started walking. "I shall call for you when I have need of your skills."

Hra stares oddly at Igonovich.

'Yes, I suppose I'll go out and monitor what's been happening while we've been here. All of you, try and get information, if you can. I can offer a reward... it's something, at least.'

With this, he curtly leaves the group and goes his own way, promising to return to the central market within three hours.

"One second!" she cried, restuffing her hands in their designated pockets and closely following her so-called 'protector' ... or would 'master' be more appropriate. Master to a small degree, at least. The folly with the wine irked her, and she would not let him get away without properly explaining herself.

"Yellow Fungus Wine stales over at room temperature, sir! I have it chilled to last, rather than keep it for a day and find it all moldy and unwanted at the end. I must take into account the cost of losing one Yellow Fungus Wine per day if no one is apt to buy it!" she whispered, staring down at his feet as they stepped ahead directly in front of her. She rubbed her fingers against the gold disc in her pocket.

"And protection, sir? I really don't have any one out for my head! Like I said before, I don't kill every Lizardman I find in the lonely corridors ... there is no reason for my death!" Oh what a lie. She smiled slightly behind his back. "But I will call you if the need arises, thank you very much, sir."

*Exliran prepares to leave but turns back to Igonovich. *

"I note that you did not tell us that much about the machine. If you would be so kind as to give an a brief discription, we will be on our way."

*Listens to description* OOC: Ero post this later. At least what this thing is called.

"One more theng, sir. I do hope to see you at my speech later this afternoon. I know I sent all of the leaders an inite and I would be honoured if you would join us in the neutral district a candlemark after supper. I hope that my speech will inspire many."

*as he is leaving he turns to the other*

"I regret to say that I have to prepare for this speech this evening and therefor cannot assist you any further today. The speech is an open assembly, so you are all invited. I would be glad to see you there. Walk in peace."

*The towering form of Exliran leaves and heads for the Skell district.*

Ghost ducks into an alleyway in the human sector, and rummages behind a dumpster. He pulls out a bag of clothes he'd stashed there earlier in the day.

A few moments and some embarrassing positions later as he got out of one set of clothes as quickly as possible and then put the other pair on near-simultaneously, Eric Schwartzwald walked out of the alleyway, satchel slung over his back. He looked around, smiled good naturedly, and began walking.

He ran straight into a Skell--looked like an important one. "Oh, I'm very sorry sir--" he said, looking up. He froze for a second, recognizing one of his pursuers. His smile faltered. Then it was back. "Have a nice day," he said. Then he walked into the crowd, and Exliran continued ruminating on his speech.

OOC: Igonovich's description-

'It is a metal cylinder, around one foot in diameter, and about two and a half feet long. There are some buttons, and a carrying handle, along with a kind of locking mechanism. You should be able to recognize it easily.'

She awoke groggily. What the...?

OOC: I'll roleplay now, I think. But Baron, it's your turn. What do I wake up to? Where have you taken me? All that shit...

OOC: Mayhaps you will be on IRC tonight at... say... 10PM EST or thereabouts? Matrix Revo at 7 and all that.

OOC: Sorry, all, about the dead-ness of Sealed Off. I won't be able to post from home for a little while, so it'll likely stay this way. I'm working on plenty of juicy stuff for the campaign setting, so when it finishes, you'll be able to get a better idea of what the history of this is. I hope that's enough to compensate for my utter FAILURE as a roleplayer at the moment.
