Didn't see that coming.

Loved it. For once, Jon actually caught Sarine utterly off-guard. I agree with him, too. Not only is it practical, but there's something more humane in killing someone off quickly instead of leaving said person to the tender mercy of a mob. 8)

Damn, you people are quick.

I can totally agree with Jon's sentiment, though. He's been useful so far, he might as well be killed (relatively) painlessly rather than being gang-raped by an angry mob, metaphorically speaking or otherwise.

Also, the tension between Sarine and Jon is getting very interesting. Somehow I get the feeling part of the reason he shot the guy was just to piss Sarine off.

Not to mention the fact that any other elf who happens to wonder what this crazy guy is yell about and does the whole telepath thing might discover things that Jon et. al. would prefer to be kept to the group for now.

In spite of everything, I'm still rooting for them as a couple. :(

I'm rooting for Sarine to get herself nice and corpsed up. I suppose they can be a couple, too, it just depends on Jon's standards as to how alive he likes his women. Dead chicks are easy, after all.

In this world, zombies are always a possibility.

Oh great, now you just gave me the image in my head of Jon turning the gun to Sarine, shooting her and skullfucking the wound.

And yes, I figured that if I had to suffer that image in my mind then all of you should too.

As for Jon's action: I had a hunch but wasn't too sure about it so the fact he did it shows that he still feels the need to fire off his gun...and piss Sarine off.

The way Jon sees it, he didn't kill Jim; he saved Jim from Sarine's mind control. (i.e. Better a clean death than to live as a slave)

Way to piss off Sarine and make a statement at the same time.

...

And what's with the semicolons? One might have been forgivable, but two!!?

True, perhaps a regular colon would have sufficed in place of the second.

And there goes Jon jumping the gun, so to speak. Maybe that town needs the excitment, a hanging would be a nice community project, you know? So much for a block party.

Actually, make that three semicolons.
Hm, must be "Adopt a Semicolon" day.

Sarine's is acceptable, but both of Jon's should have been commas.

Poor Jon. He can't even speak English as well as Sarine.

What do you mean? That are a couple. They just don't know it yet. Maybe they are in denial. I've been in marriages that were like that. Hmmm, maybe that's why the past tense there, ya think? Yeah, they act married, that's fer sure.

I agree.. though it might not have been a hanging. It could've just as easily been Jim being beaten to death by big fucking rocks, tortured to death with 'pears' (not gonna explain that one, you're gonna have to google it), violently torn limb from limb, either by ropes attached to limbs and startled horses, or simply by hand.... Oh, and my personal favorite, being hung upside down by his ankles, or tied to a chair with a sack of starving rats placed over his head and secured firmly in place, then the setting of said bag on fire, 'encouraging' the rats to chew thier way through his skull in order to survive.

I'm with the majority that Jon probably shot Jim just to annoy Sarine.

However, from the perspective of not arousing curiousity of the townsfolk (or other clandestine elves), it's probably better if the entire group just disappears like this.

Well, Jon just expressed his view of the debate in the forum. But, then, Sarine's formerly establishment (Ranger) and he's anti-establishmen (an assassin)

Ya think?!

Next up: Jon and Sarine argue over caffiene vs decaf in the campfire coffee pot.

Meji secretly transmutes the contents of her cup into Ovaltine: Ellis reveals her secret craving with a dirty remark about her liking the taste of the "dark stuff" and all three party members blast him simultaneously.

OF they are a couple. Think about it, two adults taking time away from their jobs to help a teenager on a school project. Heck, the three of them are practically family. Not a very stable or loving family of course. Nice to see that Jon can still surprise Sarine now and again.

Oddly, Jon and Sarine are probably the best and closest thing Meji has ever had to genuine parental figures. Her real mother didn't exactly seem the most attentive of parents, from what we heard back in Tsuiraku.

Isn't that disturbing?

Anyhow, I totally didn't see that one coming, great page :)

Yup. And KirimaNagi's theory that he was making a statement aside, I'd say we're seeing Jon's anger with Sarine wiping his memory starting to boil over.

Now, now. If there is anything TV and movies have taught me, it is that the bickering phase is simply a natural stage of development for a heathly relationship. Rest assured they'll soon be passionately embracing each other after their squabbling reaches fever point. :)
