Pretty low, considering how well that turned out for the last guy who tried it.

To be fair, that guy kinda got shot at by a lot of Veracian priests, BEFORE he managed to acquire phenomenal god-like powers.

Shit ass miserable. The track record of the last guy to try this absolutely stinks. But he wasn't channeling Anilis either. It's not 100:1 but it's better than 50:1 and no one's willing to cover the bet. The odd's spread is too great.

However, the odds on Santeuriel becoming a nuclear ground-zero test site just went to 5:1.

If I might desagree with all of you.

You are talking about ressurection, that was the case of the Veracian guy.

But the fact is that we are talking about

Quote:
him literally raising the dead

that have apparently been done before, and banish ( http://www.errantstory.com/archive.php?date=2002-12-18 )

So the odd that he could do that are, I believe, pretty high.
In what form the dead will be raise is, in my opinion, the real question.

Well, typical necromancy was creating mindless zombie servants or looking into the world beyond. Or, ya know, finding the lost city of R'hley and awakening the elder gods. (ie me).

Also, the implication of this comic is that the necromancer of yore burned himself into a cinder from channeling the pokégod.

My final believe that there will not be successful re-incarnation: The two remaining elven gods are scared shitless of death. Thus why they made life as it is. They accidently killed the third god, and it was the first time they found something they could not undo. Thus, I do not think it is within even the gods' powers to resurrect people.

Just my swamp gas opinions.

My bets are on Ian going Super Saiyan and causing massive damage to the landscape and spending the next 100 comics fighting some random guy that came out of nowhere.

I am picturing her basically just sitting there, mumbling incoherently and staring into space, while Ian is failing miserably at shoveling soup into her maw. At this point Ian has fucking snapped and is convinced that she is just tired, thats all, and that everyone is turning against him. There is a precedent, you know.

Later on, after he has crammed fifteen megatons of healing energy into his sister's skull, she might get more mobile while still being a classical zombie. Easily excited, she immediatly glomps things with pretty colors and whatnot and occasionally makes a (somewhat pathetic) attempt to eat people. When Jon reunites with the group, he gives her Ellis to brutally play with. She ends up raping that D&D reject that wanted to party up with Meji way back when... before eating him.

This lasts for a while before the god squirming around Ian's head decides to abandon ship and move to a slightly more vacant cranium.

Yeah, I know. Not going to happen. But a freak can wish.

Holy shit, I didn't realize you were back. I need to start paying more attention to the forums.

Also, is it just me, or does anyone else have the urge to make a flash animation of Ian flying off and exploding a city while the Superman theme plays in the background?

For some reason, I can only picture it with the Indiana Jones theme...

I strongly disagree. Just a hunch.

...by the way, have you played Xenogears?

I might buy that, if the god ian found was a seething hunk of mass, and not, say, a form or seemingly pure energy.

It's a joking reference to a game it sounds like you didn't play...

Some other pedant can find it, but either in the comic or somewhere buried in the wiki, they mention that the elven gods were all locked in combat, then they managed to kill one of themselves off, which screwed em up in da head and made them get all peaceful FF6 style.

And yes, I have played Xenogears and worship it. If only funding hadn't run short and they could have made disc 2 like disc 1. Why?

Hm. Wonder if the translator of the elven creation myths was good enough to be able to tell the difference between "one of them was killed" and "one of them became death"?

Or, perhaps one can wonder if the myths they discovered transcribed were the real myths that were told to the dwarves that the baka-fairy was alluding to as opposed to the "offical stance" the nookie fairy told.

Thank you superpedant

No, thank you. I had a rather elaborate theory about this topic a while back, and it never struck me in there that the Lorenzel Excavations' description of "Elven Mythology" differing from the Elven mythology we've heard from Sarine et al meant that the contents of the Lorenzel Excavations texts *weren't elven*. Since the Tsuirakuans and pretty much everybody but the Elves have never heard of the Dwarves, it would make sense that they'd find old things and think "hey, Elven ruins". But Dwarven ruins actually makes a lot more sense... :-)
