Interpret my character or my face queue activity!
This is based off of the "draw my character" weeklies over at eatpoo.com. It's a generally awesome concept, especially if it keeps moving. In fact, if it doesn't keep moving, there's no point in it.
SO: First off, everybody who wants to participate immediately queues up, making a placeholder post. The first will post a reference pictureof his or her character, or their own face, and pm the next person in line. That person must immediately draw, collage, sculpt, ms paint, ascii, knit, or pissinsnow a visual interpretation of the previous person's character or face. Then, this second person edits their original queue post to display their handiwork, a reference character/face pic of their own, and pms the NEXT guy,
all within twenty-four hours. This continues in perpetuity.
This can only work if people are diligent about keeping things going, but the stress and responsibility are more than made up for in hilarious fun and practice for creatives and semi-creatives alike. If you've made a placeholder post, you're obliged to estimate how long it will be until the queue gets to yours, and hang around waiting for notification at that time, so things don't get bogged down. If you know you won't be able to be around your internet at the estimated time, you just edit your queue post with "skip", and then redit it when you're back if it wasn't your turn after all. Likewise, if things get too busy and you can't finish on your turn you'd have to edit for a sry guyz, shit happens and pm the next guy and keep things moving.
This thread will be stringently moderated for things like flow and off topic posts. It will be edited for quality, but not for skill. That is, I don't care if you're not an "artist", there's no such thing as real art anyway, and all we're looking for here is experimentation, effort and proof you kinda had fun. Please spend at least a half hour on it, whatever "it" turns out to be. It's not supposed to be just anything you farted out, but something at least halfway worthwhile.
Again, this will only work if you can keep it moving, so I'd like to ask that you try it out for at least a week, and you can have as many queue posts as you think you can handle.
Oh, and any post in this thread is a queue post, and if you don't play, you'll be a total loser in the eyes of real men and women everywhere.

Seriously, I want everyone to play. It's not that hard. You did this all the time in grade school and I'll bet for a while at least you loved it. Participation is in itself winning, there's only one way to lose.
