Oh, I sooo love this. The Pokegod is toast.
Unless they gave him protections from ordinary dispel magics... You know, just in case they were in a long-standing war with... oh, say, a country full of MAGES, for example.
*coughs* Sorry, I simply couldn't resist commenting sarcastically...
Personally I'd really love for this to beat Luminosita with no fuss. It'd just be delightful to see the big, angry, flaming false-god bellowing challenges and pompous claims of legitimacy pop out of existance with barely a sound.
I believe that the efficacy of the dispell is somewhat dependent on the strength of the mage that is casting it. It would take a gi-normously powerful mage to dispell something like Luminosita. Like a mage harnessing the total power of the goddess Anilis, for instance.
On the other hand, all over the wiki I note mentions of how Veracia nearly lost Luminosita, on the Elven Barrier/Sheild, and have therefore resisted using him during the
Mage/Priest Wars for exactly that reason. It might indeed be possible for a sufficiently large group of Tsuirakuan BattleMages to collectively cast a Dispell powerful enough to dispell Luminosita and the threat of that is exactly what got Veracia to back down.
I also note that there is no mention of such hesitancy when Veracia attacked the Confederation (well-known to
not be magic users). However, Veracia still lost. I wonder how long the Confederacy would hesitate once Luminosita is dispelled? Place bets in increments of hours.

Now, will it be a magical explosion and mushroom cloud or a just a "bzzt" and then nothing? (Although it would be kind of funny if he just dispelled his sword).
I dunno, Luminosit
ass is packed full of stored and pent up magical energy. Suddenly releasing all that energy, unless immediately sucked up by Anilis, could result in a pretty good fireworks show.
One side-effect though; If Anilis supps on that energy, the remaining Veracians would be bowing down to the real Goddess. Humans are sort of wired that way.
